Nah, beards won't stop you from being gay. There is no relationship between facial hair and gayness. It MIGHT protect you from advances from other guys if you're in the Middle East but that's probably the only place where there is anecdotal evidence that it work.

I can't help but laugh at bit at this. He even "lamented" the fading away of beards from fashion in Catholic Europe. I don't think Western Europeans were heavy on beards for a long time. Even during the Industrial period, it was already falling out of fashion. Didn't Peter I even implemented a beard tax on Russia to get people to shave of their beards?
