The rulings from the international courts should be either applicable to everyone, or it should not be applicable at all. Right now, only a few countries such as Russia, Greece, Belarus and Serbia are respecting the court orders, while the biggest bunch of criminals (USA) are saying that these rulings are not applicable to them.

And another thought. This law takes Russia one step further on becoming a sovereign, independent state, as much of sovereignty was lost during the 90s.

The next step would be for Russia to repeal the law that states that international law and decisions of international courts have precedence over Russian law and Constitution. Once this left-over from the 90s is repealed, Russia will finally become fully sovereign.

I certainly cannot fault the principle of keeping a lid on NGO's who are sponsored by foreign intelligence agencies with the goal of disrupting one's country. Principle and practice are two different things however. I'll be interested to see how Putin and his successors makes use of this capability.

Ever since Putin became the president in 1999, the emigration has virtually trickled down to a few tens of thousands per year (compared to hundreds of thousands the year before). And the immigration, on the other hand stands at 300,000 a year. And most of the Russians who fled their nation in 2014 were Chechens and other ethnic minorities.

The whole point of my previous message is quite obvious... You don't blindly follow any leader if you don't want look like an idiot, isn't it? Ideas and information sources must be treated in the same way. If you have something to say then say it, but forget about unfounded statements, simple reverse logic destroys them quickly enough.

So Putin's got a new gun to fight the West. He already has many of them, so I'm not sure this is going to bring any change. Anyway, there are way more Russians leaving their country to live a better life in the West, than there will be foreigners expelled of Russia because of that new law.

It is an open secret that the CIA is using some NGOs, to spark political unrest. We have seen examples from Ukraine (in 2014) and Macedonia (in 2015). However, this strategy might not work in Russia. The people are much smarter, say when compared to the Ukrainians. And now these organizations will have to take their activity else where. China might be an attractive target. Grin
