I think that the trend is over.
Quark was cool and new.
Now , it's old , new coins are coming to the market. They all have in the end the same source code as bitcoin so no advantage for quark.
Quark mining will be gone in less than one month since the rewards will be gone , and there is a new coin with a dog becoming popular.

Quark is divisive. Both supporters and opponents are spirited and vocal. As there is no bad publicity, I see QRK going (the way we all want all cryptos to go) up

There have been 2 news items worth mentioning here -
Is now the time to invest in alternative currencies? - 03 December 2013
http://www.finextra.com/blogs/fullblog.aspx?blogid=8624
&
Attack of the Bitcoin Clones
http://www.equities.com/editors-desk/currencies-forex/attack-of-the-bitcoin-clones

Both mention Quark as if it could be the next big thing.

Also, Applecoin seems to have skyrocketed since last nights listing. Quark IS planned to be added soon, right?
They DID just add it to their Cottage Currencies page, which means they will be listing it soon. It could be anytime.
Right now is a great time to buy in, because it's at a lower price since last night, and it's sure to rise real soon.

It's currently the 4th largest in Market Capital and this cannot be ignored for long.

What do you guys think about the recent quark drop?

So many coins have been changing hands and I saw some massive dumps. I'm talking 100,000 quark coins being dumped at a time.

Do you think it is a good time to still buy or are people selling for a reason?

QRK will eventually be put on btc38.com. When other alt coins have been put up their price has gone up quite a bit.

That's why we saw so much selling when it was found that QRK would not be put there. People just bought QRK for the btc38.com offering. They didn't take into consideration that it would eventually be put there.

I don't understand.

Is it not going to be put on btc38.com? Kind of hard to read what you wrote.

It was planned on Dec 14th but with possible few days delay that also was mentioned by btc38.

Yes, true.
Detractors say what you want about it, but the world cannot ignore an alt coin whose market capital is #4 on the list.

Dangerous game people are playing here.

Buy something safe,  iXcoin been around since 2011,  still trading under 20 cents,  only 17 million coins (not 250 million coins like quark).

People think it will take 100 Million of new revenue to make Quark rise to $1.00, but they forget that it's not necessarily new money coming in, it's money already invested in Bitcoin, going into Quark, MASSIVELY!

My theory is that each Alt coin Leeches $$ off Bitcoin, because when people think to themselves, "I have $1000, and I want to invest...what will make me the most money?"
They think next, with perfect reasoning, ..."Bitcoin will have to rise to $1600 for me to double my Investment, but Quark will only have to go to .50 cents for me to double my investment and if it goes to $1.00 I make 4 times my money, but it will take Bitcoin to rise to $3200 for me to make 4x my money with Bitcoin, currently"

Now..all of the sudden, Quark makes much more sense...or rather Dollars, that Bitcoin ever could in the near future.
and ...should Bitcoin rise that much, Quark would surely rise proportionately along with it, thereby making the investor MANY times their money more than Bitcoin.
That is just basic, folks.

Again very nice reasoning, and applicable for every coin. Smiley

I think people have to understand just how much a quark really is.

when compared to litecoins number of coins a quark would be worth $2.56

That is a lot of money for a quark. I mean, litecoin was at this price for a long time before the recent run up of bitcoin.

But all coins have risen bigtime since bitcoin went up so high.

Maybe you have so many QRK, so you are senting a bullish signal about QRK's prospects .
Maybe you are not so good with English?  Whats with all these new accounts being allowed to post outside the newbie section.  So many phony accounts now with no other agenda but to slam certain coins.

Heh you're not the only early adopter left, there are a few out there (if you compare the blockchain). With that said I agree most early adopters have "spread the wealth".

Quark was easy to mine in the beginning and gave huge block rewards, so it was mostly mined up by early adopters.
Now those same early adopters are trying to create hype to jack up the price, and then they will play their ultimate pump and dump card.
[/quote]

Clearly you weren't around in the early days of Quark. I bought some the second day and watched every day for months while the coin was mined and dumped at any price. Every time the price went up a little it was raped and the price was slammed. All those coins mined for the first 4 months were dumped, the price went to 30. I am the only early adopter left with my few QRKs that I didn't sell.

Who will profit? anybody that bought some in Nov. and Dec. Buy some now and you will still profit. It is going up from here 10X.

I think there is a lot more up than down but as the video states , because of the superior distribution and the fact that it will only ever get more decentralized not less , the transitions higher will be fairly smooth and I'd say the price will be fairly stable like a "traditional"  FX fiat Debt Currency - ...

Give all the coins to initial miners who mined within first 6 months and trust they will distribute them evenly and not hoard
=
"superior distribution"

Was quark really cheap in the beginning and few people loaded up on all the shares?
Quark was easy to mine in the beginning and gave huge block rewards, so it was mostly mined up by early adopters.
Now those same early adopters are trying to create hype to jack up the price, and then they will play their ultimate pump and dump card.
Exactly,
Some others will potentially be able to profit from this scenario as well, but most future adopters will indefinitely lose.
