First of all, I think by the majority of members in the forum would agree with me when I say there can never be any justification for racism regardless of who the racist is and who the victim is. Racism is absolutely abhorrent and is totally unacceptable in any situation or capacity.

In a simple answer to your question, I think it could be because they are a minority ethnic group. If European football players were playing in African leagues, maybe some of them would face racism because they would be the ethnic minority.

I want to know the reason why the Blacks are mostly the victims of racial abuse.

In  Soccer sport they have putting the rules that no Racism but of course that cannot be prevented entirely because there are cases when some people thrown something on most players with the expression of hatred in them, though sometimes most attack on players is not racism because it could be a person who stake a huge money for that particular club to win and maybe one of there players had the opportunity to score but failed to score and act of anger most people normally attack that player though is not common now again.

Yeah I recall when Samuel Eto'o was playing at AC Milan, the opponent's fans were throwing Banana on him and calling him monkey and same thing have also been done to Vinicius Jnr by Valencia fans and just about 5 days ago 3 Valencia fans were jailed 8 months in prison and banned from stadiums for two years for raining racial abuse on the Brazilian International footballer. The link to the news is contained here ---
https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/40318791/valencia-fans-jailed-real-madrid-vinicius-racial-abuse. If players and fans are being sanctioned and penalized for racial abuses the rate of racism would have reduced to the minimum in football.

I don't believe that the reason why some fans abuse black players racially is as a result of losing a bet due to that particular player not being able to deliver in a game but in most cases is always when a black player scores the opponent and out of aggression and anger the opponent's fans will just begin to abuse the black players racially.
The problem of racism cannot be stopped because every league always campaigns against racism but still some fans don't know the rules where they always do it, but what I know now is that the most racist is to Vinicius who is likened to a monkey, suddenly this is not accepted by Vinicius and even friends to support him and criticize anyone who does it.

Usually the racists are people who bet and they lose.
The person is racist because his favorite team does not accept to lose.
That person hates certain players and is racist.

Soccer sport game is not a centralized event whereby some can even made it a thing of their own to influence the result in playing it, everything happening there is open to the public and everyone can have access to viewing live match to see the way its been handled, knowing all about this, i don't think that there is a need to believe on the way some perceived soccer games with racism, and even if others are doing such, we should not allow ourself to be deceived by their acts and we should not be involved in such.

For me, I don't make a big deal about what you all call racism, to be honest, it's just the normal thing that happens in literally all part of the world and even in our homes.

Have you ever visited a relatives home to stay with them? How do they treat you? Most family won't treat you as a part of themselves and that's the origin of racism. It goes out from there and preference is been given to who is member of a family and who is not could be looked down on. and then it expands to what's now called Ethnic difference and people that are not of the same ethnic group don't align well and might treat others bad. Within my country, I have traveled to another state where I was denied access to certain occupation just because I was seen as a non indigene, and that's why we could go to the extent of killing ourselves just because of our ethnic differences.

Within Africa we've witnessed black xenophobia among nations and ill treatment of some ethnic group just because most of them aren't always educated and we feel comfortable with it.

The thing is that, as long as you're in a strangers land, you're always going to be a second class citizen in all guise and this is not just a black or white something. Vini jnr has been th most popular person when issue of racism in sports is talked about and the truth is that dude has attitude problem that he hasn't really worked on. The black hasn't seen being a black man as a major advantage and they've been brainwashed to believe that being black spels a negative quality and that's why this clamor for racism has been a major issue. I believe that a valuable black man that is skilled and that stays in the state minding his business and going about his civil duty won't be molested on the street just because he/she is black.

We are all recist to ourselves, both black and white are all racist in sports and life.

But the black people don't condemn the appearances of the whites so why the so much hate? It is that we all can't live together happily and proffer solutions to world problems without facing racial criticism? I want to know the reason why the Blacks are mostly the victims of racial abuse.

I believe this discussion goes beyond those who are professional football players and happen to be black skinned. This is not a discussion on football, but rather a discussion on how society has devolved into such a state in which people can get prejudged, mistreated or even killed because of their color of skin (which they did not even choose, to begin with).

In order to try to give some answer to your question on racism, it would require both of us to talk about the long history of religion, colonialism, stereotypes and the perceived behavior of both black people and white people.
There is something called internalized racism, you know. When someone belittles oneself because the color of one's skin.
It is unfortunate, but in my opinion, it would be impossible to completely eradicate racism from western societies and even eastern Asia.

That of football is really confusing because black people always cheer on the white ones. If you check the fans of the top white players, they are mostly black. But then you still check on that of the top black players, it’s barely white because for some reason I still don’t understand, they don’t like their skin color. If we want to go by history, the blacks should be the ones hating, but they aren’t, so like I said, it really is confusing.

Racism does not only happen in soccer but it is more prevalent and obvious there because of the call out from victims of racist abuse that are always voicing out. The norms of soccer have given them the privilege to be able to voice out when trampled on like that. If there was no such avenue, we wouldn’t have been hearing much cases of racism as we do. Let the world come together to fight racism and racism does not only exist in skin colour or type. Even races and religions are part of it and people face it differently depending on where they find themselves. The world should come together and be united about racism because that is the only thing that will bring prosperity and peace in the world.

For so many years now, a lot of football players more especially the dark skinned ones have been racially abused both in their domestic leagues and other international competitions and I now begin to wonder that is it bad for everyone irrespective of their race, language and country to do things together with one another without condemning each other?

It has been on record in football that players (especially Africans) face racism while playing for some European countries. I was thinking that the hate was only on Africans but with the development I have witnessed in the case of Vinicius Jnr even though he is a Brazilian have made me to understand that it is just a total hate on the black people.

In the past we have also recorded some racial abuse on some African players like Samuel Eto'o, Thomas Nkono (Cameronians), Iñaki Williams (Ghanian), others Africans who also suffered racism includes Nico Williams, Mouctar Diakhaby, Frédéric Kanouté, Yaya Touré and so many others.

But the black people don't condemn the appearances of the whites so why the so much hate? It is that we all can't live together happily and proffer solutions to world problems without facing racial criticism? I want to know the reason why the Blacks are mostly the victims of racial abuse.
For the same reason it exists in the world. Soccer isn't played in a vacuum that would completely leave politics, attitudes and biggots outside of it, even when it tries to weed out them with equality rules.
Racism still stays more or less under the surface, and when it's not blatant, out and open, it's affecting trough ways that only people experiencing it can truly see it.

Why does it exist in the world then? To understand that we need to understand a lot from history, and how it was build on it. Lots of land owners owned slaves, so natrurally our whole culture is affected by it. So racism is systematic, embed in our cultural bedrock. We have psychologically adapted to it and removing it, or even reducing it takes lots of laws, lots of effort and lots of inclusivity. And the scale needs to be tipped pretty far, before there are effects on it. It can't be "just" equality, but equality of inclusion, before that scale of equality can be cailbrated again.

We shouldn't be focusing too much on the current state of racism, what we should be focused on is the root cause of this problem which is the ignorance of people. That's the only reason why most racist people are racist, it's because they are ignorant and they're so close minded because they're not exposed to culture and they only grew up learning what they've learned from their forefathers which isn't really a great teaching experience because it's too exclusive and at the same time, it propagates the wrong things in someone's developing mind. Probably the best solution in this in my opinion is making traveling to other countries much more accessible and affordable if being totally free isn't viable, when you get exposed to different culture, you'd have a hard time trying to think that you're superior than most people and that you're a special one because you will definitely make friends with people that are of different color from you.

And in which teams does this manifest itself? I didn’t hear it, or maybe I didn’t even notice it. Racism is bad.

Racism isn’t confined to sports, it’s prevalent everywhere, some countries much more than others. The key is education, the effects racism can have on people can be demoralising. Children in schools need to be educated on it, diversity must be preached. It might be hard to change the ways of older people but we can make a change by educating the young on this matter.
It's very true that racism is not confined to sports, it's prevalent in every areas of the society, only that it's more noticeable in sports because of the popularity of many sports like football. Although I believe that racism is not prevalent today as it was like many decades back, it's perhaps lesser in this generation, but like a stubborn spot it's not easy to totally erase. I think that it's in human nature to want to feel superior to people that are perceived to be inferior, even people of the same race will discriminate against the people that are not in the same status and financial class with them. People needs to be more civilized and not judge others based on the color of their skin or their financial status in the society, but based on character.

Racism! A word that has always been the most frowned against word by everyone in the public, yet people still engage in racial abuses on their other humans. What is life without unity, harmony and love for one another. I have never seen a more prosperous city than the ones that hold unity with high esteem. Racial abuse span across other sectors and not just football, the case of football is because of how publicly it’s been seen, felt and shared on social media since there are cameras everywhere and the world is watching. It happens in other sectors too, but are mostly cover up by those abusers. It is okay to embrace diversity and should also be shared amongst young generations so that they don’t come up with such racist mindset as the grown ups have in mind now.

I love football but its sad to see football fans are one of the most racist and toxic fans among any sports. Football indeed is an amazing sports and people might have feeling of nearness to the club or team they support but it don't satisfy the violence and racial slurs the fans generate.
This is more significant in Europe, all of it, including turkey, Latin America and Indonesia.
Football has been associated with disciplines and many players losing their entire career due to simple violations but its absurd to let the fans do such activities without consequence. Teams with toxic fans should be kept under large police presence and any racist remarks should be reciprocated with custody and subsequent fine.

I agree, what is it about soccer and the type of fans it attracts? In any other sports
I watch there isnt any racism towards people who are not White. Tennis, Rugby, Athletics,
I never experience racist spectators.

I stopped watching Soccer years ago, I just found bothe the players and spectators
generally create a very toxic experience, I just cant enjoy it, the toxicity overpowers whatever
bit of true skill we get to see over the space of 90 minutes.

Football, for example, is a beautiful game because it is played by people of all races. I detest racism, but it has also drivenAfrican and African Americans to strive for excellence in order to change the world. Racism presents an opportunity for Africa to rise beyond it, as other continents have done, proving everyone else wrong and emerging as the commercial hub.

Every sport is played by people of different races. IMO most Soccer matches in
the past when I watched bored me, difficult to see the beauty in them.

Racism has always been here bro and it's not a new thign, but the world of football and sports is fast growing and such children attitude needs to be stopped for the better, if a black man deserves respect give it to him, and right now we have a lot if black footballers doing well in several leauges, but I think the whites are scared that if we learn what they know we would overthrow them, and that's how I personally feel about this.

Racism does exist in every sports and every industry but there are some population who couldn't do much about it but then comes sportsmen and celebrities or someone who has power to do or say something they should raise this concern immediately and name shame the perpetrators only then this racism will stop and it will take a generation as we have to raise children right from tender age by making them understand we all are equal and no one is superior or inferior as it has to be eradicated from root which cannot be done but strict measure and punishments against it will reduce the incidents.
There are many ways to stop this with in recent time we are having good development as well but still its long way to go about this all because few weeks back I have faced few things about this and peoples those were effecting with this talked about this as well and all were having same view that education is best for changing mind, and also we need to stick with few things which are also important to stop this all without this we can't end this from our society.
Celebrities and famous peoples also having their part about this but still we need to stick with this from childhood which is best for having better society and better results about this all.

i agree that education is key to stopping racism across all fields, but it shouldn't only be confined to schools and other educational institution, as they sadly also foster racism.
change needs to start from our homes and personal circles, we all share a responsibility to educate ourselves and others on the importance of being open minded and accepting of others.

Being a victim of racism for being black I've seen more at soccer matches most of the time. I've seen Vinicius Jr., one of the best players in the game in multiple seasons, suffer more racism. It's not just football, with several regions in America highlighting cities like Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland as places where systemic racism against black people is a big problem. It has become a racial problem, such problems cannot be solved very easily but we could not start the fight against racism in all the countries of the world. It's not just about being beautiful, the world will be beautiful to you if you have a beautiful mind.
