First, they are just following the law in rejecting you. That you dislike the concept of national
states etc is another topic, for which you might address politicians but not Cryptsy.

Second, I agree they should have answered in a more friendly way, that would have been
better. Also they apparently made a mistake when they used the word resident instead
of national. I'm sure they meant the latter as this is about following the US sanctions
which are nationality-bound (one can argue about this, sure.. But, again, not with Cryptsy.)

Still, there is nothing racist about their behaviour and I also wouldn't call it rude. A bit
unprofessional, but not exactly rude.

but you are of syrian nationality?

that is irrelavent, I'm a human being first!

i said i understand the law says they can't deal with me, but they didn't have to be so rude about it

they said : "The entire country of Syria is sanctioned by the US, and we are not willing to do business with any Syrian residents."

for a start I am not resident in Syria I live in the UAE since 12 years

second if they gave a shit about customer relations they should say something like

"we are very sorry but US law does not allow us to deal with people of your nationality"

that would not be rude, but their response was, can you not see the difference?

I don't get the problem. You are syrian, so why do you mention UAE at all in your support
email.  I first thought you are upset as they have mistaken your UAE passport for a Syrian
one. But if I got it right now you are rejected as Cryptsy doesn't want to do business with
Syrians at this time. They can decide as they like. No need to blame Cryptsy for racism or anything.
i live in uae since 12 years i never been to syria at all

Cryptsy is more than willing to do business with just about anyone regardless of their nationality, race, etc. However if they want to continue exchanging coins for USD they must follow the racist and discriminatory rules the US government imposes or face their demise.

they already banned my account ffs for being syrian
That's life man, don't let it put you down, things will change one day for the better I hope.
The very concept of a 'nation' is racist, we're all guest here, but unfortunately the people in power don't see it that way and exercise entitlement.

In a world of peaches, don't ask for apple sauce
Regarding the video, I doubt it's the fault of the employee itself. Most (if not all) customer support workers just spell out whatever the company follows. If the company doesn't want to deal with Syrian citizens, the employees say so.

Regarding the racism, I believe that Cryptsy (and many other Bitcoin or cryptocurrency exchanges, especially the bigger ones and in the US) is in a position where drawing any more attention from the government is the last thing they want, so if the US government puts sactions on a country, they go an extra mile to avoid any possible trouble dealing with the citizens of said country to avoid any further intervention in said business. Also, it doesn't matter where you are currently living, your citizenship is what nationality you will be considered to be as faking IPs is as easy as a click of a button.

Also, I don't exactly find their response rude.  From the emails shown, they aren't insulting the user, making any racist comments or any kind of remarks. I get much worse shit shoveled on me almost everyday by various forum users and I just ignore it. Yes, it was cold, but it's a business and customer support answer questions straight forwardly since the volume of questions is often overwhelming.
