Friday Update #6
(the last one)
(Mandatory by 4/27/16)

As our last update for today, we are pleased to announce an improved Radium wallet, Radium version 1.4.0. While the interface remains mostly the same, Radium v1.4 introduces many needed core upgrades and improvements. The most notable upgrades include: implementation of proof of stake v3, improved database structure, and updated DNS seeds. In order to correctly deploy proof of stake v3, we must implement a hard fork, which will occur on 04/28/2016 at approximately 1:46pm (UTC). This is approximately three weeks away, so there is plenty of time to update your wallets. We will be notifying exchanges and other service providers of this change requirement later this evening in preparation for a smooth transition.

A few things to note:

  • YOU WILL GET AN ERROR when launching 1.4 with an existing blockchain. It is OK, just delete your existing ‘txleveldb’ folder.
  • Due to the improved database structure, a full resync is required.
  • The AWS AMI’s and the Docker Containers have all been updated to v1.4
  • The Azure template has not yet been updated, but will be in the next few days.
  • SmartChain 2.4.1 will be required to utilize the new wallet.

The download links and source for Radium 1.4 are all available on the OP
As always, verify all downloads with One-Click-Verify or the full SmartChain client.

Amazing work devs. These updates are great! They all focus on ease of use, and reducing friction for further growth and adoption. Feels like you're building the infrastructure for something great. I like the way you guys think. Plus, you're some of the most active devs in the altcoin world. Thanks for your hard work!

Friday Update #1

Radium now has a Project Manager!

Please join me in welcoming Collin as our new project manager!  It is very exciting to have such skilled people joining Radium.

JJ

Hi everyone!

I'm Collin, Radium's new Project Manager. The devs have asked me to join the Radium team to help with PR, organization, and really anything of that sort that needs doing. My background is in operations management, marketing, and PR, and I've worked for a number of years with a Fortune 200 company in those capacities. I've spent the last week familiarizing with the project, and I'm really excited about what's going on! Happy to be here working with a great team!

Radium already offers great features that are just yelling for user adoption. Therefore it is great to have Collin join in as a Project Manager responsible for PR and marketing. Time to find the right distribution channels.

Definitely check out the concept of customer discovery, developed by Steve Blank. It contains very powerful knowledge and gives the right mindset to understand what really counts when building a startup.

I found you guys the first chapter of Steve Blank's book "The Startup Owner's Manual". Reading the first chapter and the "Customer Development Manifesto". It makes a great read:

A bit about Product/Market fit by Steve Blank:

Friday Update #5

Radium Node Container Avalible!
Radium on Docker Hub

In the hopes of streamlining future software development infrastructure, Project Radium is pleased to announce the completion of our Docker container. Docker containers dramatically reduce the time needed to spin-up Radium nodes, and can serve the same purpose as Azure Quick Start templates or AWS AMIs. At Project Radium we try to provide our users with as many integration options as possible and we feel that a Docker container  is another great tool to have available.

Mind explaining what Circuits even is? I've never heard of it.
Also, we are not hiding. JJ12880 is Justin J., and I am Timothy M.
melancholy and Bitkapp may chose to reveal their names at any time.
We would ideally like to go through the process of forming a Project Radon LLC at some point in the not too distant future, so our identities will be publicly documented soon enough. Justin has undergone ID verification with both Bittrex and Poloniex, and I will be undergoing ID verification with Poloniex soon.
We are here to answer any more questions you may have.

Friday Update #4
Radium is now available on Amazon Cloud!

The Radium team is happy to announce that Radium is now available for deployment on Amazon Cloud in all ten geographical regions. Our new community maintained Amazon Machine Instance (AMI) allows a user to launch their own Radium node as an Amazon EC2 instance in minutes. Amazon Cloud EC2 instances are some of the easiest and fasting launching virtual servers in the industry,  making EC2 an excellent platform for hosting a Radium node.

Our public AMI comes with the latest Radium wallet, and is pre-synced up to April 7, 2016. Our AMI is located under the community AMIs tab, in step 1 of the launch Instance Wizard.  The radiumd daemon will start at boot, and will generate a fresh wallet.dat file the first time the AMI is launched. RPC connections are disabled by default, but can be enabled by editing the radium.conf and rebooting the instance. As always, make sure to review and set your own security groups correctly and follow safe networking practices.

If you have any issues, comments, or feedback, please send us a message!

Friday Update #3

Radium SmartChain Tutorials!

From the beginning, Project Radiums’ mission has been to deliver next generation decentralized services utilizing blockchain technology to all users no matter their level of technical knowhow.  Unfortunately some processes can only be streamlined so much, and additional documentation is needed in order to make a system more widely accessible.

Project Radium is proud to offer a completely comprehensive set of SmartChain walkthrough guides that cover all existing functionality of the SmartChain. Whether it be registering a SmartChain username or decaying Radium in to Radon; these guides allow a user to quickly begin to take advantage of the SmartChain software by providing an easy to follow step by step tutorial.

A list of all completed walkthrough guides:
