now we are in the long run phase  Cool
Sell us some low priced rain pls.
PLS ?

Yeah RAIN sure is a long term hold, the impatient people have been selling and that is when I start buying more RAIN to build on my staking weight. This stakes like a beast as the other day I got close to 1k RAIN from a couple of stakes. That was only 91k RAIN so I'm getting closer to my target of 100k which I want to achieve by the end of the year.

any update on the whitepaper regarding the release date?

No release date yet, but the draft is getting updated and revised regularly. I don't think the devs want to rush it as i can only assume they want to expand on the details about the IoT device which they are working alongside some researchers in india to creating a working prototype.

Interesting !
Can we read the draft ?
Any idea what type of Iot device is it ?

i see this coin is getting slow progress, it was expected to hit masternodes long time ago but still nothing, investors will not come if you don't update your coin dev, any news about new features?

Interesting, I didn't know masternodes were ever planned for rain. I thought it was going to be staking only.
Where exactly are masternodes mentioned?
Is it something that the dev mentioned? Cause i don't see anything on the site..

It was talked a little about in the slack group a few months ago. But since then we haven't heard any more on whether the dev will implement masternodes or not in the future. I personally don't believe RAIN needs them as the staking rewards pay enough as it is but I do see why people would like to see them implemented as masternodes do lock away a good amount of coins once implemented and people start to run them.

Suddenly getting this error trying to open the wallet. Anyone seen this? I excluded the folder from Windows Defender, no luck.

I think your blockhain file is corrupted (first block is bad).
Try to delete the blockchain files and resync (backup your wallet.dat file always!) .
Did you shutdown your machine while the client is running ?

I probably did. Does anyone know where the blockchain files are saved by default? I have my wallet.dat file.

What is your os ? Windows or Linux ?
On windows search in C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application data\
On linux : ~/.rain/

I hear ya, the current price is quite depressing but it can be a good occasion to load up, the dev is working on the white paper and the price will most likely bounce strongly when the white paper is released

How come for 27 days that I have staked that I have 10 false confirmations for a total of 5,046.99 rain lost  Huh ?  I have staked 16 times for a total of 11,080.34.  I started with two blocks, one of 10,000.99 and a second of 57,332.54 for a total of 67,333.53,  I now have 78,413.86.  Should I do something different to stake these coins more consistently or more frequently?

I've actually had zero orphan blocks while staking rain, but I've gotten a lot while staking another coin. Nobody has ever been able to tell me anything about why this happens other than "bad luck" unfortunately.. :-/

PS. I actually prefer to break my coins into smaller blocks within my address. It seems to make me stake more often. Might be worth trying for your wallet.

The reason why some people get orphan blocks is because someone else has beaten them to that particular block. Its just like mining a coin, we are all competing for the block reward so it works the same with POS. I've only had a few with RAIN but I seem to get a lot with many other staking coins. I guess it all depends on how many people are staking and how many coins are staking at the time we hit a block.

Hi rainers .)

i have a question..i am staking some times and each stake is combined with previous balance. Why? I dont want it.

When i use coin control after stake..everything is combine together automaticaly.

thanks for reply.
I don't think there is any way preventing it.
I see most of reward get combined with staking stacks, so I just split them when each stack gets too big.

You can't control the orphan blocks, so you will get more of those in certain times.
I broke them up by 10k, but not really sure it works better, let's say 7k.
But it seems to take more time to stake when the block is less than 5k.

In addition to the previous question: Is it possible to run the condensate wallet on a VPS and with a cold wallet?

I'm staking multiple coins on a VPS and it is working great
Is the procedure easy to start with a VPS?
Do you have a guide on how to do it ?

You can use a free tier AWS server, there's plenty of guides on how to setup a VPS with AWS (Amazon web services)

doing the same here- it is working like charm:)
Thanks a lot guys.I wil do it.
