The brilliant insight of the BitTorrent system was to mobilize the idle upstream bandwidth of peers which had a mutual interest in acquiring the same content through barter tit-for-tat exchange. However, the problem of how to incentivize bandwidth contribution from peers which had no need for downloading, e.g. because they had completed the download - or because they had no interest, was a serious problem for the quality of the experience. People tried to work around this by organizing into private communities which imposed strict rules for minimial levels of bandwidth contribution, however access to and continued membership with such communities always remained too elusive and complicated for a lot of people. JoyStream attempts to solve this problem, with an open peer-to-peer solution in line with BitTorrent itself, by using the new money of the Internet, [Bitcoin].

- Fixes the incentives problem in Bittorrent.
- Makes private trackers obsolete.
- Incentivizes seeding hard to find content.

Rally confirmed: tonight I had a dream of BTC price making a sudden upward move and then went full retard going massively UP UP UP, breaking the barrier of 240$, making the weekly parabolic SAR turn into full bull mode.
Anything new that happened today? News? Developments?
why do you think something happened? just because the bitcoin is up a few bucks? it's just a wave of nothing that will vanish within a week.
It could mean nothing, but then again, when the price is about to move upwards, the first steps are the hardest, since after a long period of stabile price
also mean a lot of people selling as soon as the price goes up a bit, thinking they will be able to re-buy lower again. When they fail to do so and are forced to re-buy at a higher price than
that what they sold for - thats when the rally begins. We have been waiting for price growth for such a long time that rarely anyone believes in it anymore, but it doesn't mean it wont happen.
