RBI is not thinking. It is the Govt, who I think might have taken the decision to launch Lakhsmi coin by banning bitcoin.

i don't seem to find any credible source on this rumour but if RBI is planning to launch its own cryptocurrency then they are completely missing the point, the idea is to decentralize, there has to be no owner or 3rd party involvement, thats the basic usp of crypto i.e Bitcoin. also decision making on the network if decided by RBI will again be exercise in futility as Bitcoin lets majority to take decisions & again they will completely missing the point. what RBI should do is come out with a positive regulations for cryptocurrencies & embrace the blockchain tech or see the money & talent leave the country as seen in the past which we love to call brain drain.

Most probably India will launch its altcoin.. And so will other countries

If each countries try doing this what it means that btc demand will fall drastically as countries will be banning other coin and only their coin will be valid. This also mean their coin could be only used in their country as no other country will allow other country coin then.

Exactly, very well said, for that reason it is best to be vigilant and be cautious so that investments can be managed in time according to the change in the situation.

If countries start having their own govt coins, naturally there are chances that they may ban others.

Though the news has been around in some business websites, I think the news is not 100% confirmed.
However, like someone above said, Govt has placed a panel of members in order to look in to the potential benefits of introducing Indian govt's own cryptocurrency.

It will take a few months at least to get a proper idea about whether they will actually plan to launch their own.

Any official articile or news regarding the coin you guys talking bout, coz i havent heard anything like that, Infact Ripple is the one i have heard would be used for the Banking Block Chain. but just nothing bout LakshmiCoin

I have never head about Ripple can be used for banking block chain. DO you have any article or any link where its redirects towards the ripple which can be used . Yes for Laxmi coin I had read an article where there are considering to create a new coin which may or may not get approved depending upon the committee report once they submit. Lets us wait and watch about the outcome.

Yes! For that to happen with Lakshmi coin, they should use decentralised transaction system and with this system no one can get tracked by the govt

Yeah that is correct, people are considering this alternate payment, as they never want to get tracked in any way by govt.

Yes you have heard is right but it is still in process and the committee is thinking as an alternate to bitcoin by using this block chain technology. So in case if it gets approved then I thin all other coins will get banned and only people will need to use is LakshmiCoin.
