How long is the fee reduction for? Those fees are really low.
At least until ASIC is making significant impact, it is still a hashrate / fees thing, if we can double the hashrate less fee covers costs
there are still people that donate above fees (much <3 for them) that also eases the burden
I still think ~10% of the network is a good size for a pool
I know there are people that wont believe me but my goal has always been a low cost pool for miners, not to make profits, when my circumstances changed and donations were not covering costs I had to introduce fees - now I'm looking for a good balance in an attempt to keep fees low but costs covered
also with stratum and vardiff I will be able to retire 1 or 2 servers and handle larger loads than previoulsy seen, so costs to run the pool are coming down
