I don't see it as a commercial endeavour, but as a way to get something back for all the time and work I keep putting into it. I will stick with just one ad, since I hate it when a website (or in this case, a topic) annoys you with ads. That isn't what I want and I can always change the position of the ad itself. By the way, .gifs and annoying colors.

Anyway, first I will have to see if people are even interested in it. If not, I will just delete it.

whats the problem with bitin.io* ? Huh
There are payment problems, which is why they have an asterisk. Sorry that I didn't respond earlier, I totally missed your post.

Bitcoininformation,

Just to let you know that coinpiler campaign paid out today, albeit a day late. You can probably update the OP with this information. Still wish letprice used escrow and was more communicative on the thread though. Good news is that we have got our payments! Smiley
They are closed, so I removed their information. Updating the OP isn't possible because of that, haha.

You're free to start your own thread but it's unnecessary. You can see where the ad will go in the op already as the space is reserved there.

I've been freed by hilariousandco!  Thanks man!

Joking aside, I'm not starting a new thread yet as there's not any ad there yet.  I'm also not 100% sure I'll start a new thread even if the ads start appearing.  I'm just trying to warn bitcoininformation about the difference between running a community project and running a commercial endeavour.  Basically, I'm going slow.  I'm not going to act unless I start to feel like bitcoininformation is profiting at my expense.

I've scanned back through the last few pages and I have to admit I'm a little confused about where bitcoininformation is going to be selling ads.  Personally, I think that if the ads get too bad on here I'll just have to start another overview thread (as bitcoininformation started this thread after the old overview thread maintainer got tired of it).  I'm not convinced that it's cool for bitcoininformation to profit off this thread.  Please, trolls, calm down, this is just my opinion.  Respect.
The ad space action can be found here. Also, I asked permission from the previous owner as you can read on the first page. Now I just try to earn a little bit on the side for all the time and work I put into it, that's all. Smiley

I recall about you asking permission.  I didn't intend to imply you had done anything wrong.  For me, it's just that if I start to feel like checking this thread is participating in your commercial endeavour, I may restart the thread in a non-commercial atmosphere.

can somebody explain that campains that pay per activity?
afaik one can only earn 14 activity points every 2 weeks

They par for your current activity, not the increase of activity.

If you post about one message per day you can consider them paying for all of your existing posts, not only posts done during last week.

It pays you based on how many activity points you have. Wink

Shorena, thank you so much for the donation. I have received it so everything worked out just fine. I have received another donation by someone that send me a private message. Not sure if he wants to be credited for it so I will keep his name to myself at this moment.

Donations received : 2

The ads will be up for 10 days. Could be longer if I am busy. I have been thinking about expanding the time slot but I am not sure yet

not 100% sure since I didnt make it myself Wink

-snip-

Could this be the first donation or another teaser? lol.

How long are the auctioned slots going to be up for? It says at least ten days but that isn't much. I'd sell them for a month or so. Maybe even longer.

I aint no tease when its about money.

Donation information: Till today there have been no donations. At least 4 people told me they would donate a small amount of BTC, but none did.

It's quite complicated because people relying on signature campaigns to provide them with money often dont wanna donate anything to anybody. Tongue

I wouldn't have hoped for more than a "thank you", at the most.
That is why I have switched to selling ads. Grin
Personally I think this is a lot better. You deserve some reward for doing this as it's helping a lot of people. I don't mind ads. Smiley

The OP is putting a lot of work into keeping the campaign updated. If you found a campaign because of this thread then it is more then appropriate to send something (maybe just .01) once you get paid, especially if you are making a lot of money from a campaign like PD or dicebitco.in
I'm not arguing with that, I'm just saying that the mentality behind most of
the people using sig campaigns is to hold onto your money and don't give away
a penny.
