quite high stale rate here, too.

deepbit: ~2.5%
btcguild: ~4.5%

Aggression at 12, with 13 it was even more.

The phoenix flag -a has only affects the filtering of the hashrate for display.

running phoenix 1.48debug btw., driver 10.12, stream 2.1, win xp. Connecting over wi-fi but I do not think is the problem. Slightly overclocked but temps below 80°C.

I deactivated QoS just to check. If that is the problem I will send a bill to mircosoft.

poclbm never recognized all GPUs.

Its phoenix itself. Try new version (1.5) or try poclbm.

I am over 300ms away from bitcoins.lc and I still only get 1% rejection rate, I am not sure it is purely latency you have a problem with

How'd you check that? Any other ideas what it could be? I guess I could try underclocking.

ran -a2 at aggression 8 for a while with 100% accepted. Going to run it at 12 aggression overnight to see how we do Smiley

Thank you for the very promising help. I'm pretty confident that this will solve that issue i was having.

I'm getting about a 5% rejection rate

Going to add flag -a2 back in cos I think I was getting lower rejection rate with that before OS reinstall

I'll have to look at how you do that because that'd give me something else to try out.

Ran aggression 12 for 30 min or so, averaged 10% rejected.

I ran aggression rate 11 last night and got 5% rejected this morning. It's an improvement but still rather high. I'll mess with different aggression rates.

try playing with your AGGRESSION - it seems to affect stale rate for some reason.

Just updated drivers for the 4870, will mine it for a while to see if it helped. Otherwise, I have QOS on my firewall so I'm wondering if disabling that would help.

Any other ideas?

QoS could probably cause it, disable it and see if anything happens.

This morning I woke up and saw it was right back at 10% rejection.

I may just try switching pools. Are there any other things it could be?

Is this likely a latency issue with bitcoins.lc rather than a config setting on my machine? That's what I'm leaning towards.

I ran the fan at 50% all night. Woke up and the temp was 62C so it was definitely cool enough. I still had 8% rejection rate.

85C?!

Kick that up to 100% fan or plan on loosing that card in the next two months.

50-70C is the safe range.

At 50% it's now at 60C. I don't care TOO much about this card because I have 2x 5830's on the way... as soon as they get more in.

As I said, it's at 60 and I'm still getting 5.71% rejected.

My pool right now is bitcoins.lc. Whenever I leave the miner going for 8+ hours, I generally have about 10% rejection even though everyone else in the pool is getting less than 1%

I'm starting to think it's a latency issue because sometimes I'll run it for 30 min or so and it'll be fine. Other times I'll get 20% rejection.

Currently running a 4870 at 790mhz/790mhz mem at aggression 10 with phoenix and phoenix rising GUI miner. I've played with a lot of settings and nothing seems to help

How hot is your gpu?

It gets to 85ish then levels out. I have the GPU fan on auto.

I'll put it on 50% and run it for a while to see if that helps.
