Thanks you for this information! So what pool would you recommend that I start with?

If you don't mind unstable payout, then i recommend http://www.kano.is/index.php. I would dare say it has the best payouts but when you get paid is subject to luck and it take more time to hit your average.

If not as suggested go for PPS pool or cloud rented hash. Something like Nicehash is very convenient but it does not pay well lately.

Also with a cold temperature intake if its cold where you live, i do fan at 25% which give me 2520RPM (Somehow) and 48c(10c outdoor), 1.3TH/s @393.75hz @640Watts.

Thanks for sharing! Well, I was told the S5 can make a easy $75 a month mining. Does this offer a monthly payout?

I am in Arizona.. So its HOT about 110F.. So I need to move this out of my house.. too loud.

Indeed, if you put a box fan underneath it pushing air through the fins you might be able to help with the temperature and run it at the speed you want. Anything under 60c is pretty good.

Kano pay out after 100 confirms, that means you can get 3 payouts in one day, like no payouts for days. Hence why PPS was recommended. You'll get paid per share thus you will get a steady payout.

Thank you for all this information!

The unit can only mine one pool at a time correct?

I am using NiceHash at the moment, how does payment work and how often?

I suggest starting at FAQ on nicehash if your mining there - https://www.nicehash.com/?p=faq

I honestly suggest a more regular pool at this point if you are not running the firmware that has patch for nicehash specifically.   You will have better results (in most cases) when on regular firmware with a regular stratum pool.  Not to mention nicehash seems to pay under for quite a bit at this point.

Does frequency change the fan speed?

change your freq   to run cooler safer quieter.

you hash a little lower but your power is lower.

your psu would like freq 325 as freq 350 pushes closer to its limit.

click miner configuration

 up comes pools page

look for advanced settings click it

up comes freq option

click it and look for freq 325  set to freq 325

click save and apply

wait 5 minutes

click miner configuration

up comes pool page

set 3 pools

click save and apply

click miner status

you should  be hashing at freq 325  about  1050gh

What psu do you have?
Do you have Ethernet cables?

I tell people do f2pool first
Kanos pool second
Ck solo pool third

Do a under clock freq 325 for a day. Then decide lower or high from that testing

1. CX750
2. Tes

What is the point of under clocking and will I make less? How do I do it?

I suggest looking at PPS pools.  It is my personal favorite but has higher fees.  But it is a constant payment.

So you trade variability for a higher fee.  There are lots of other types of pools though, I suggest learning them and then look at pools. The following pool will show in a way the biggest pools: https://blockchain.info/pools

Matt what have you been doing while waiting for the S5 to arrive?  Smiley First port of call should be the Dogie guide.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-dogies-comprehensive-bitmain-antminer-s5-setup-hd-910967

Should be enough there to get you up and running.

Hey Team!

Well, today is a great day! I just got my S5 in the mail! What are my first steps? What should be the pool I go with first and secondary? I am so excited to be a part of the Bitcoin world!

Matt
