Hyping a coin as it has good concept and creating noise around it, is not that hard work, the crypto biggest problem is those who have bad intention (scamming, dumping coins,...) alongside with a good concept.
I think the safest way for now is to invest in top marketcap coins, others are just about your luck.

So are images like the below good for getting people interested?  Cheesy

If you are not in immediate need of your investement money and you believe in the project, I would say hold. It once happened to me that I sold my 12000 coins of a project which seemed dead because the dev was idle for a long time. Then he got back and the coin had a 100%+ growth in a day.

But if you need the remaining money now to invest on something else which you believe will go better, then it could be good to get it out, if the project is solid enough. Still, I would say hold.

If the dev is bad i don't see why it should go up , and why buy a coin with a huge premine?.

The premine is for sustaining future development. It's a self sustaining coin and not a sellout dump coin as evident since it's going strong since it's inception 2 years ago, the coin increase 100 times in value in the last year. The numbers just add up perfectly. 26 million coins in existence creating good vibrant grounds for trade.  Shocked It's just a solid coin but needs a better dev. This coin could even be big without a good dev, it's just self sustaining and on a strong trajectory of growth.   Cheesy

Unfortunately you should dump it to hell, if the developer is really bad, there is nothing else for this coin. Team is more important.

the big advantage of cryptocurrecys is decentralization!

so if another dev see potential in this coin he can make a hard fork and let first dev enjoying his older bad coins!

everyone has the knowledge can change things in cryptoworld

Thanks for all the comments guys. Really helpful.

So unfortunately the dev is the founder and I think Im the only investor with enough capital to care that the project is going nowhere. I don't see anyway of booting him off the project.

I'm not knowledgeable of programming or anything of the sort. I just invest in crypto.

Also I pretty much cant even sell the coins I have as the wallet is always in maintenance on yobit and the only other exchange is nova where there just isn't enough volume to start selling.

Good point on the dev owing half the coins  Sad unfortunately I really believed in the bull of it being used to "develop" the coin. Unfortunately in 2 whole years now, the dev hasn't done squat other than make a twitter account with about 2 follower, it's really pathetic. You even have to turn off virus scanner to use the wallet as there is a bug and he hasn't bothered to even fix that.

Im just stuck with my money sitting idle when I could be using to invest in other more worthwhile projects.  Undecided

and what's even worse you cant even comment on the coin without him throwing a strop and deleting comments

There can't be great project with bad devs. Project is a team, teamwork! If they are not good project will die for sure or will be bleeding for a long time.

If nothing suggested by Joel suits you or you simply don't have sufficient knowledge, I think you have two other options: 1) Wait and see how the situation plays out, cause a shitty developer is still a developer and better than nothing, maybe some new ones will join or he will be blessed with some bright ideas and start investing more effort. 2) Wait for some pump, sell and consider that as experience. Best of luck to you.

what to do  Huh  i want to see a return on my investment but the dev does nothing with coin  Angry

im talking about dbtc debitcoin. Fundamentally its a great coin but the developer is useless  Angry Roll Eyes

what would you do?
- Ask the founder to remove the dev or hire a new one.
- Those changes will only take place if rest of the investors feel the same way.
- Also, pretty sure there would be  a contract signed between the Founder and the Dev which will have it's own set of objectives.
- If I was you,I'd fork the coin and start programming it myself.Or you can always hire a programmer to do that. Smiley

He's a ninkapoop sitting an 8 million premine of a 17 mil circulation

IS IT A SCAM??  Huh

I don't know about the ins and outs of this project. But if the dev owns half the coins in circulation, why would anyone want to invest?

You cant do anything about it specially if the dev doesnt put any interest on his creation after making money. This thing do usually happens and we can able to see there are lots of potential coins do exist but ending up on dying because dev dont tend to continue or just securing up their bags and left all behind. For those investors you cant do nothing if the price would really dump hard. This is always part of the risk if we do tend to invest into these coins or projects. We wont know if they would continue or progress or not.
