Every ICO have a mission to make profit for their project, for investor and company. But, not easy to find good and success ICO to make it profitable. There are some ICO is fail and maybe fake/scam.

Here are the reason for beginner to don't invest all assets for ICO

1. Every beginners is likely to want the ICO token directly distributed to their wallet before the end of ICO.

This is makes the token price is dump and makes the ICO will fail before that ICO complete. Because many people who join that ICO can't wait to sell their token before the price is listed.

2. Many beginners think that ICO price is same after the end of ICO or the exchange price listed

Some beginner don't know if the price is only for ICO price and don't know the real price is listing after that token listed on exchange.

3. Some beginners didn't fully check the ICO before they invest

Not every good ICO Project is good for invest, there are many ICO is fake/phising and not all real ICO will success after there token listed in Exchange. This is why before invest in ICO, we must check it by looking the ICO feature and mission, The ICO Team, Domain age of their website, Roadmap and their Whitepaper

That's my opinion why begginer mustn't invest all for ICO to save their assets. Sorry for my bad English because isn't my main language

Contributing money to ICOs gives no rights to the contributor, they only get a token which may or may not go up in value of a company that may or may not succeed in its goal.

Best to wait till you see some actual evidence of success before purchasing any token. My two cents on the matter.

There is trouble abrewing
i wouldn't say this only to newbies but to everyone that they should try and stay away from investing in ICOs. it is not just a very high risk investment anymore it is a losing game which is also damaging the whole cryptocurrency market. ICOs aren't really doing anything, they are not developing the technology, not producing any useful product, not offering any service, .... they are just tokens created to take money from you!

on a more serious note It is actually not safe all your funds in any ICO because if the project does not become a success to the extent that the liquidity of the native tokens that was offered could generate revenue for investors then it is likely the investors may not get their principal amount back not to even to think off profit.

I will correct you sir here. Most ICO's are scam that is one thing.
Second, investing in Bitcoin is for most doing smth they dont understand, investing straight away not in bitcoin but in some ICO its like not investing in NASDAQ first but going straight to loan shark.

Number one reason is the lack of.knowledge of a newbie investor, investing in an ico without any knowledge what project it is , its like throwing your money. And mostly ico these days are scam.

It is that, it is also listening to someone on YouTube (usually a paid reviewer) to shill something that sounds the beesknees. When in reality it is not.

Everyone is trying to get rich quick, there is no quick rich in any industry.

I think the points you bring out are not only for beginners, but also for someone who has experience with ICOs. You shouldn't put everything into an ICO. Especially during the market situation like now.

ICO's are simply lesser regulated IPO's!

The economics are the same.

With the recent crypto bull run, tons of projects abandoned their IPO prospects and went for ICO instead.

In the 1990's I lost a good sum of money investing in Sillicon Valley IPO's. It was the exact same overall excitement (and bust) we're seeing now in the ICO.

Therefore this phenomenon is not restricted to crypto, it's a general market thing. Whenever something new arises people jump on the bandwagon without thinking.

If you want to know how crypto ICO's will play out, simply read any book abut the dotcom bubble! It's practically the same movements we've been seeing, except this time it involves a newer tech (cryptos).

Biggest reason for me to stress to newbies is that every dollar invested in an ICO will be a dollar that will miss out on Bitcoin’s rise. They seem to think that investments they make with Bitcoin are somehow tied to Bitcoin, which is not true and will likely cause those who don’t understand this to miss out on Bitcoin gains, or more likely lose their money.

Everyone needs good profits. That's why most people go with ICOs. But ICOs have not given a good return on investment recently. There are too many scam ICO projects and most ICO projects are cheating investors. In these days hard to get a decent profit from ICOs and hard to participate good ICOs. The market condition is another big reason to dump ICOs. Then we have to do good research before investing in any ICO project.

You didn't understand the principles of the ICOs. This has nothing to do with making a profit. It is used to raise funds to create a project, the same funds are supposed to be used to develop the project. The same startup/companies/entrepreneurs do with Kickstarter etc.

Domain age of their website
Not really relevant. You can have a young domain name since the project is new.

I think the biggest reason for beginners should be because they literally just beginners. Being a newbie without any kind of experience whatsoever on investing in ICOs is really a lousy thing to do by a person as they are all vulnerable to promotions as well as fake promises of the ICO, and they are the most likely target for scamcoins here in the market as they don't even know how to do their own research work. Being a newbie without even studying anything on how to search for good prospects is like putting a soldier without a gun in the battlefield.

So if you really want to invest in a project wait until the token is traded and dont buy it during the ICO.
Maybe this meaning is "don't buy in ICO it that token is sending after transaction in wallet before that ICO end". Because I've participated in ICO with that program, then that token is too cheap under the ICO price and change it to trash token

I agree with your idea. However, if no one invests in the ICO, it can not reach the softcap and the project can not even be listed on the exchange. In other words, I think that it is difficult to make ICO successful for any project in the recent market situation.

Every ICO have a mission to make profit for their project, for investor and company.<…>
Unfortunately, that is only the theoretical best case economical mission, but as we know, many ICOs have been designed to be scams from the start, not giving a damn about the investors and often not even about the project itself.

ICO investment is a very risky business, despite one doing the due diligence and trying to check on all the rational factors (project need/feasibility, whitepaper, roadmap, team, status, etc.). Only around 8% of ICOs make it to the exchanges (and not all exchanges are the same), being around half of those considered a success to a certain degree (see New Study: 80% of ICOs are Scams, Only 8% Reach an Exchange). The risk is not just for beginners, but any person who ventures to invest on ICOs.

ICO's aren't just a risky venture for beginners, but for absolutely anyone who wishes to invest in such projects, the thing with ICO's is that it isn't yet an established coin and so things could go awry along the way,and it could probably be a scam all along waiting to accrue enough funds and dash off with people's hard earned money

As a result of the high level of scam ICO projects majority of cryptocurrency enthusiast now find it very difficult and are always sceptical about putting their money into any of such projects

Truth be told, there are good and excellent ICO projects, but what are the odds of getting into those

Only beginners with a very poor orientation would not know all the OP sited and should not even invest yet at all.

The major reason we should always check and recheck joining ico is because of the constant scam project around well the discussion about STO establishment is still on this might reduce scam rate

I wouldnt invest any money in ICOs these days. I followed a lot of ICOs recently because of bounty campaigns, EVERY ICO was dumped hard as soon as the token was traded, resulting in huge losses for the investors. So if you really want to invest in a project wait until the token is traded and dont buy it during the ICO.

Sorry for my bad English because isn't my main language
I won't say perfect english matter but as far you can communicate and we can understand you're good. Maybe your case has to do with discipline, you spelled beginners right on topic title but spelled it wrongly when ending your topic
That's my opinion why begginer
maybe if you take time to read out your write ups and crosscheck spellings before posting, half of your problem will be solved. Also you should consider joining the Fit-to-talk project to improve your english as it's not your main language

Back to your topic, I believe before owning any other token/coins you should 1st own bitcoin. Investing in ICO can come second with the purpose of making gains to increase your bags in bitcoin. There'll always be better altcoins but only one bitcoin.
Your worries above can be avoided by proper research done before investing in ICO although icos are now old news. Anyone still investing in those? If you still do, good luck
