I recommend you to watch spanish film "Contratiempo", in English it sounds like "The invisible guest". Its about a man, who is suspected of killing his lover. He presents his point of view, than appears a lawyer and we learn the story from the other side. With every new fact or detail we dive deeper and deeper. During the film we are looking at the story from different angles. This is the most exciting film I've watched lately. If at the beginning or in the middle of the film, you already think, that you know what is really going on, you are wrong.

recommend to me detective filings other than Sherlock Holmes
Only one person here in this thread recommended True Detective, which is unbelivable.
It's a MUST-SEE thing.

My answer is True Detective.

Yes! True Detective is amazing. The Snowman is ok too, not the best but not bad

For something current, business-based and mysterious, I would recommend 'Wizard of Lies' starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. It will give out a lot of information about investing in shady business schemes too. Or rather, not investing in them.

Prisoners. Watch the trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpXfcTF6iVk

It's not just a detective story but focuses on both the families of two children that go missing and the detective tasked with finding them. I'll quote what I recently wrote about it in another thread here -

I just figured it'd be fun to start a thread to recommend movies to one another. With that said, feel free to share the good (and bad) stuff you've seen lately and if you want a recommendation, ask away!

As for me, I watched Prisoners recently and was pleasantly surprised. It's a very heavy film, but both Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal were amazing in their performances. Very well-written script, too.

Have at it!

I was just about to post about Prisoners and I searched to see if any others have mentioned it and surprise surprise it's in the very original post of the thread. It's probably one of the best films I've seen in a while. I loved the director's other films Sicario and Arrival so started looking into his back catalogue and this and Enemy stood out -- which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal. I didn't like Enemy at all and thought it was a bit pretentious and confusing, but Prisoners completely different. It's a long film but kept me hooked throughout and didn't see the twists coming.

I also watched Sicario 2, but it has a new director. It was decent but doesn't compare to the original but I'm glad it looks like they're making a third one as well as I like Benico Del Toro's character and you could probably make an entire series about him alone.

Among the recent movies, "Murder on the Orient Express" is good, especially if you are a Daisy Ridley fan. If your brief extends to spy thrillers, sort of detective stuff,  then you can check out "Atomic Blonde" starring Charlize Theron.

I heard that the "Se7en" film released in 1995 was very cool, and the storyline was very nice, but unfortunately I  never watched it. Maybe I can recommend this film for you.

It's just a serial not movie but you might like it. Check Manhunt: Unabomber. He kept in tension all the episodes.

Yes I agree this is a great series.

Also I recommend "Walking among tombstones."
And, "Murder on the Orient Express"
