Finally.  I was beginning to think we were doing something wrong, with only liberals attacking us.

Im reminded of the quote from Thoreau

Quote
There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root.

He was talking about the government  Cheesy

Look on the bright side, now, we're the ones who get to call people like him conspiracy theorists, I sincerely believe that over the decades our governments have developed paranoid schizophrenia because I can't find any other explanation for their supporters erratic and irrational behaviour of claiming everyone is either a criminal or a terrorist who doesn't support them unquestioningly.

I’ll tell you what needs prosecuting next: the Bitcoin ring that ‘monetizes’ hacking of home computers, and creates the preferred currency of Tor-using child molesters. Tor isn’t the problem though. Tor is the communications medium. Bitcoin is the currency. Attack Bitcoin and you attack the core of the problem.

Tech at Night: Sacco, Vanzetti, and Aaron Swartz were all guilty. It’s time to break up the Bitcoin ring.
My name is nimda and I'm using my 1337'th post to ask this:

What the hell did I just read?

You read a primetime example of off the charts ignorance.

That article rag sounds like something Dick(head) Durbin would write. Roll Eyes

What the hell did I just read?

We're all part of a bitcoin hacking ring and we deserve to be prosecuted, according to a statist douchebag.

Death to enemies!
They were sampling all sorts of drugs from Silk Road purchased with Bitcoins while jerking off to little girls found on Pedo Archive. Someone found it funny to write the article while tripping. Just another day in office.

This article is just a regurgitated mess by someone well armed with other men's opinions.
I like your phrasing.

To post: uff. For the sake of nitpicking, I wasn't aware that the child pornography on Tor was pay-based. Is it? I thought it was just sharing.

As for "monetizing hacking" ... I'm not even sure what's being referred to. The only way one could possibly profit by hacking a home computer (that I can think of?) would be attacking a bitcoin user to get their keys. So, if it's only profitable to attack bitcoin users, which would be a huge turnoff for potential users if it even happened on the most semi-regular of bases, why would a non-user give a fuck?

What I find to be funny is their claim about it being the currency of child molesters.  Like these people rose up from the woodwork simultaneous to the creation of bitcoin.  Like these people don't use US dollars, or whatever their local currency may be.  Actual bills are about untraceable as bitcoins, that is why people pay their drug dealers in cash.

Someone isn't thinking this through.  If you can call Tor just a medium for communication, why would you blame a currency?  I mean, let's just solve all our problems and destroy Internet--that'll REALLY lock out those darned hackers.  Hey, let's also destroy the dollar: that'll REALLY stop money flow to criminals!  Bitcoin has no moral right or wrong.  People use it.  So the problem is people: let's just kill all the people, and then people won't be the problem anymore, right?

This article is just a regurgitated mess by someone well armed with other men's opinions.  Maybe it's just late, but I couldn't follow any of it.  I've seen better writing on the average teen's Facebook page.

Red State is one of the attack dogs of the American Right. They're more statist than "conservative". I see this as a snarl in our direction.

There are a lot of things wrong with what I just read there... it's a bit astounding, really.
