How integral to bitcoin will qr codes ultimately be?
Hopefully NFC is used in certain circumstances like paying a merchant because it is much quicker than scanning a qr code.
You mean like a tap and go system? That would be great but would rely on credit card owners (centralisation)
I do however think that QR codes are likely safer for the end user as they are essentially nothing more then a way to copy a string of text via a person's camera

This is nothing new. It has been done before and will be done again. Not particularly smart or innovative. College student should get a job.
I think it is smart. It may not be original but it works. There was a time last year when someone held up a sign at a college football game asking his mom to send him bitcoin with a QR code for his bitcoin address. The sign was shown on TV for only a few seconds and ends up getting more then $25,000 worth of bitcoinYikes, that's not bad for an idea he probably came up with the same morning.

I've heard about that kind of thing too, I remember reading somewhere about a guy who had a degree in Aerospace Engineering or something and did that and ended up getting a job.
