In the past it seemed that every project needed a Bitcointalk ANN thread to become popular/successful, is this still the case in 2024?

Nothing really has changed, and its even better today because we are talking about search engine indexation and
Bitcointalk can easily index announcements coming from any coin.
But the project really needs to be good and have potential because members are well educated and might give the project bad feedback, so this is the reason why bad projects do not want to create announcements here.

If you want to use the forum to market your project, you’ll need an ANN thread for that. The project you mentioned didn’t seem successful, based on the ANN thread you shared. But in general, some projects will fail while others succeed. Having an ANN thread adds value because members can post questions, and the OP can provide answers and updates about the project. The more updates you post, the more interest you’ll generat, especially if people see potential in the project.

The challenge is that in the past, many projects failed because their primary intention was to scam by capitalizing on the hype of altcoin season. This history has made the community more cautious, so transparency and consistent updates are key to building trust and gaining attention.

Cryptopunks is not my project lol, I disclosed I'm team 3DPass.

I think you misunderstood my point.

What do you think about the relevance of Bitcointalk ANN threads for Altcoins in 2024.

Just reading back on some legendary ANN threads from Doge, Ethereum, the list goes on.

Even something like Cryptopunks had an announcement by the founder https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cryptopunks-10000-collectible-characters-on-the-ethereum-blockchain-1995154

The most recent big Announcement is probably Kaspa back in nov 2021.

Even if the project I'm heavily involved in 3DPass (ANN from 2022) succeeds this would mean no quality ANN for a couple or few years.

Is there any project I'm missing in 2023/2024?
