Updated first post!

In the process of producing a logo for b!z, and am available for more commissioned work. Feel free to shoot me a PM or enquire in this thread. Constructive criticism is also very welcome.

New hourly rates to remain competitive! And updated the service information in original post. Those who I've already started working with receive and updated quote based on the new price so you don't feel ripped off. Smiley

You should totally look for a partner who can code. Your artwork would look great in a game!

I'd love to! It's a massive undertaking though. I followed the development of Fez on Tigsource and the creator / artist had such a hard time with the sheer volume of work. I'd like to pick a specific 'aesthetic style' for the sprites and just run with it but every few months my tastes change and I want to redo everything.

I do it periodically in my spare time. A few months a year i'll get really into to and do it all the time for fun and then i'll lose interest for a while and get back into it again another time. http://www.tigsource.com/ is definitely my favourite resource of amazing looking 2D game graphics.

This is just too cool; was this commissioned or just something you did in your spare time?

I did this for myself as my own business card, got about 250 of them printed. It was tricky fitting in as many 'hello's as I could, I'd love to do it again and spend more time on it. I'm also looking to have some business cards printed with holographic metallic ink sometime in the near future; duplex or triplex bonded with coloured card so from the side you get a nice layered effect (and makes them sturdy as hell). Expensive though.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, i'll upload some more later tonight to give you a better example of the different work I can do.

I really like the first one. Did you make all the sprites yourself?

Cheers, and yes I did! I've always loved the 'chunky' style of old-school sprite art. To tell you the truth I've always wanted to create an indie game but am not going to kid myself into believing I'd be capable of coding it (I've played around with Game Maker software and GML in the past though).

Like I said if anyone has any need of design services PM me or leave a message here and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Watching this thread. Very nice designs. I like the business card in particular. If I was handed one, I would definitely spend time trying to solve the word search Smiley

My most recent business card. The idea to try engage the recipient in interacting with the card rather than simply putting pocketing it was tackled by presenting one side as a simple word search. I would circle a particular message in the word search to customise it for the individual I was presenting it to. The word 'Hello' is also included in over 10 languages. I can't even find them all anymore myself!

It isn't much to look at but I quite like that the concept is simple and isn't driven by imagery. And when printed on a top quality card stock it's pretty sweet and it definitely stands out.
