Just clarifying.  These coins have all been cleaned of hologram residue and done so carefully as to avoid any scratches.

If you're just messaging me now about these, please include your shipping address or the city/postal code so I can quote shipping for you.

Thx

Can we see some pics of the back of what the peeled titan gold coin looks like? What did you use to peel it? Was it anything that would have scraped the surface of the coin? Are there still remnants of the holo on the back?

I carefully pealed these with my fingertip. There was no damage to the coin from the pealing process.
When these coins are pealed they leave a small amount of residue adhesive. This was removed by allowing the coins to soak in an acetone wash. This removed the residual adhesive.

I have mailed these all to Tim so I can't get you a picture of the back but he should be able to send you a quick picture. Just send him a PM or e-mail with what you need.

I'm glad the reload option wasn't realized. As an owner of all minted Titan's I would have been extremely disappointed if peeled coins were reloaded. The only thing it would have accomplished is making my Casascius coins more valuable as another mint (Titan) would have been considered untrustworthy.

I have now shipped these to Tim who confirmed receipt and we are ready to process orders.

I understand an individual who placed a large order for these has not followed through so I am able to reopen sales of these.

Price remains the same spot gold at the time of payment + shipping + $100. These are some of the rarest collectibles in the bitcoin space and I very much doubt these will ever again be available at this price so if you want one please inform Tim Fillmore the president of Titan Mint here:

[email protected]

Alternatively you can send him a PM his user name is TitanBTC

At the prices these command it's no so "trivial" to some people, that's a lot of money at stake.  Undecided

These are highly collected coins as evidenced by your selling out of even the peeled coins so fast.

I do understand that and am sure Tim does too. We agreed that perhaps the idea was not as well thought out as it should have been hence the change in response to the feedback.

It simply shows how out of touch you really are from the collectibles community.

p.s.  Of course all your coins sold.... $100.00 over spot was a great deal.  You may be out of touch, but at least you are not greedy.  Grin

I certainly don't spend much time in this corner of the bitcoin community so perhaps I am somewhat out of touch with the ebb and flow here.
Nevertheless I am glad you are relaxed. Most ideas even those not thought out as much as they should have been are not worth getting too worked up over.

p.s.  not one person has chimed in thinking this would be a good practice.

Which is why it’s not going to happen. The consensus was opposed so these coins will be sold as is. I have edited the opening post to reflect this.

Apparently there was more demand then I expected as it sounds like there are already more orders then I have coins so unless some of these early orders don’t follow through these are sold.

Try to relax life’s too short to get so worked up over something so trivial.

I'm just very passionate when pointing out obvious stupidity.

@TitanBTC.... if you actually reload these..... you are a MORON!!!  I would sell EVERY Titan coin I own based on your sheer stupidity and lack of awareness!  Full disclosure, I do not own either a 2014 gold or 2016 gold, but if I did, I would really be lighting this thread on fire!!  Anyone that owns either of these coins still funded have a much rarer coin with all those others peeled.  Now you are going to make their coins less rare by refunding the old ones?  Total DICK move!!!!  A peeled coin is history and should be left alone.  Facepalm.

What about the residue that was left by the first peel.  How was that handled?

First Exclusion Ever
I would echo the sentiments of the other users here, reloading coins is a bad idea. The only way I would personally see this as acceptable is if there was a clear marking on the coin or hologram making it obvious it is a reload, otherwise unscrupulous people could try to resell reloads as originals, which would certainly effect the resale value of the actual originals, pissing off your customer/collector base.

It sounds like these have all sold.

I'll follow up with everyone who didn't get a response from me yet and you'll still have priority if the sale doesn't go through as intended.

You're correct that these won't hold the same value as the originally funded coins.

However, because the dies have been destroyed, there's no other way that most people will have a chance to own one of these (current coin owners are not selling).  Less valuable, yes, but still one of the more rare BTC collectibles around.

As mentioned above, though, these are offered for you, the BTC community so if people would rather just own the gold piece then that's fine too and I won't go to the trouble of reloading.

Hmmm

"RE-Pressing" coins.

Not sure I'm a fan tbh. Just feels a bit ... off.

In the world of Collecting, they will always be a 2nd rate item compared to the Original.
Is it worth it?

‘This particular group of coins were sold direct and not made available to the public, so its even more interesting as it contains production numbers that were unavailable previously.’

I hold some 2016 Titan Mint gold coins (Lady Justice Version). The COA states that there they are limited to 100. Are the 25 sold here numbered as part of the 100 and were they loaded and then redeemed? Asking as the thread states that the holo has been removed but not that they were loaded then redeemed. Just want to clarify that you purchased and weren’t a reseller for Titan....

Also I f they were numbered, then I presume Tim has the numbers and if sold loaded will issue the exact same numbers and not start at 101?

That's correct.  These coins are a part of the 100 and retain their original production numbers.   These were purchased and redeemed and I've offered to reload them with a fresh key pair and Certificate of Authenticity.

Yes, agree that they turned out very nice. That’s why I bought and hold a few.

So the 25 you have were funded and came with a COA then?

Yes

To be more specific:
The 2014 coins are #70-94
The 2016 coins are #20-44

2) Restored coins. Tim the president of Titan Mint is willing to restore these coins and reload them with a new hologram and load a bitcoin onto them. Price for the restored coins will be $100 over spot gold + the BTC price currently $8173 per coin plus shipping.

Hi,

This is a post from today (December 17, 2019) and BTC is nowhere near $8173, where is this amount coming from?

Thanks!

One ounce of gold + one bitcoin + $100

That total was the spot price of gold + the bitcoin price +$100 at the time. Earlier today the bitcoin price plus the gold spot price per oz + $100 was $8173. Tim is doing escrow and will get you an actual purchase price if you want one. The $8173 was just an example using the gold and bitcoin prices at the time I wrote the post.

These Lady Justice coins are actually from the first 50 minted. I flew down to California in late September of 2016 to pick them up in person right after they were struck.

I played a small role in encouraging Titan Mint to get these out when it did. I had seen the concept art and knew it would look great. I kept pestering Tim about it and paid upfront for 25 of them to encourage him to quickly bring his design to fruition.
