It'd make sense to get an onion version of the forum in some ways but it'd have made this place harder to find for newbies. I can think of a few reasons an onion site could be favoured over the current one but there's a few drawbacks too (like not getting a pretty address, being poorly indexed by search engines - even if we already are).

DoS attacks remain on tor and can strike still too (I also don't know how using tor compares to using multiple vpns in series).

I remember ChipMixer asking for it: Cloudflare enabled onion services and Bitcointalk, but that's still using Cloudflare.

At least the Captcha bybpass code got rid of the captcha, but Cloudflare is still a middle man that can read anything.

FWIW: I'd like to see bitcointalkxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.onion Smiley (the vanity address might be a bit difficult)

That means the trouble with accessing the forum through Tor should go away.
What problem? I just login with Tor and it worked just fine. The issue I always notice is when I am using Duckduckgo with VPN (or maybe without VPN too), there is always still delay to verify if the connection is secure or not.

This is just a forum and I do not think having .onion address is necessary.

It's high time that we get an onion address, don't you think?

This version would not have to be protected by cloudflare, because DDoS does not work on a single hidden site without affecting the entire Tor network, right? That means the trouble with accessing the forum through Tor should go away.

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but what has come out of such requests?
