If everything's resolved it's probably best to lock this topic now.

Well archive it but something along those lines works fine since it was resolved
Probably fine not to lock it for a while just so people can see it who aren't online all the time

I hope everything will get sorted out now, and everybody will get their coins back.
John K.: are you fully recovered now?

Yep, all that it remains is a fraction of the GB funds I still currently hold and waiting for some of the participants to reply. (about 54.~BTC)
I'm still somewhat recovering, but be rest assured that I'll gradually get more time in the near future. It's more about sorting out the backlog I've managed to rack up in RL over the months.

Awesome, it's great to hear that we're making some good progress.

Just back after a personal emergency/health reasons. No, the funds (or any BTC funds I personally control etc) weren't touched/moved during my hiatus, simply because I didn't even had the strength/time to go through my personal emails.

Unless I'm wrong, I confirm that I've only held 100 BTC in this raffle and 54.~ BTC in RagingAzn's group buy during my hiatus, the former which I've already released, and the latter which I'm still working out with the members involved. (accounting issues)

And yes, if I really wanted to run or do anything God forbade, I would carry that out when I still held more BTC. I held on average 2-3k BTC for others on a daily basis last time.

PS: Just saw this post.

PPS: Nope, no aliens or the government.

Seems like a good opportunity for an upstart news agency to try their hand at real investigative journalism. He could come back in a year, say he was being digested by a lion but broke free once an alien beamed him out and was surprised to hear from John that the government denies having ever been contacted by aliens, then was kept in solitary confinement by the FBI under a very-forced gag order to keep the scandal from getting out, where they also forced him to turn over the coins... and I'd probably believe him. I mean - I'm not saying it is... but it was definitely aliens.

Have the coins ever left the escrow address?

He's online and sending back the raffle coins now apparently (see his profile / last posts). The coins he held never moved as far as I'm aware.

I just find it odd that someone who was so active on the forum not to mention trusted would just throw away a positive rep for seemingly no good reason.  I don't understand it and I find the issue bizarre is all I'm saying.

A good reason may have been the several hundred btc he holds of other peoples money

He returned 1000 BTC he held for the forums. Why didn't he just take that?

Maybe he is really ill or worse.

Then why return the forums thousand coins? He could've waited and collected even bigger escrows and then vanished with the lot.

Instead of scamming, maybe its the other way round.   Was he in control of a large amount of btc and someone got to him.
It would kinda explain his brief reappearance to assure the masses.    However I believe people said certain wallets were untouched, that'd not make alot of sense with price falling as well.
My original guess was illness, it may also just be apathy and disregard.  People often drop out of virtual communities just because its not interesting anymore, Mr sat himself of course went.
Its not a scam that adds up is it, unless there some other greater unknown loss?

Total BTC PER order is 782.1 BTC!

I presume he was not holding that alone.       All this seems very badly setup, was there no dead mans switch, no co signatory ?

Regardless of any of that he didn't seem to give anyone warnings of his prior absences when he went travelling or whatnot. The least he could do was tell people before he went away or sort his current escrow deals out before doing so. If he was well enough to return the forums coins why not the rest? I'm sure it'll remain a mystery unless he returns.
