Dogecoin address is different than bitcoin address. Atomic wallet must had address validator and failing this proves that they have not tested their application and had let the public use their project.
Though it is wrong to say that they have scammed you, they must refund you at least 50% of the amount as this has been a mistake from you and their side as well.

I have recieved 50% of the full 0.1btc lost in this transacion from Atomic Wallet today, here is their reply:
" Thank you for your reply.

If you would have owned your DOGE keys, there would be a chance for the recovery. However, in this case, there is not.

We would like to offer you 50% compensation – 0.05 BTC. We admit, that there was a failure in the wallet that has not prevented you from making a mistake. However, we want to note that it is on the user's side to make sure you use a correct address and double-check everything before sending.

We hope this resolution is acceptable for you, please provide your BTC address."

So they actually admitted it was their failure in the wallet, and they returned me that 50%. The other 50% which is a little over 0.05 BTC is lost, ffs that's still 400 usd... I guess I can accept that. Have contacted the site on which the dogecoin wallet is, so maybe i still get the private keys to that doge wallet and recover the rest. Thank you all for your support. They do admit the failure though...

So this is their latest replys.
"Thank you for reaching out.

We appreciate how you must feel about this case. However, this situation not in any way implies compensation. Many other coins have similar addresses formats such as VET and ETH, and it is almost impossible to prevent this kind of mistake apart from being attentive to the address and double-check where are you sending your funds to. The coins that have different formats will not let you mix the addresses and you will see the error when sending.

This is more than obviously real amateurism in action, so they claim that Doge and BTC have similar addresses which is really nonsense, and the $15 compensation is so pathetic that I won't comment on it at all. Aren't they aware of how much damage such a negative case will cause them in the future?

What interested me from the beginning was who controls the address where BTC ended up? If Atomic Wallet has private keys from that address, then it would be fair to return the BTC or at least admit that they are not technically capable of doing so.

Excatly, the doge add is from a site I use which has multiple coins which you can deposit, I just copied the wrong one from the dropdown. I ofcourse contacted their support also if they can check the tx if they can see if that btc landed anywhere on their site, they said it did not since it was sent to a dogecoin address and nothing arrived, and also they use P2SH address on site starting with 3, and this one was converted to a Legacy addresses starting with 1. I currently know only of Atomic and Blockchain wallet that uses legacy address starting with 1. So to whom that converted btc address belongs to nobody seems to know, especialy Atmoic, they say they do not know, and I agree with you, I think they should at least admit they are not capable of doing so, of doing much more then sending 15 AWC, jeez...

However, as you are a valuable customer, we can offer you a bonus in AWC. Please send us your AWC BNB address."

So I was, ok, so at least they are giving me somtehing back, better then nothing, I was hoping for at least 25% of what I had lost, since it was partialy my mistake for copying the doge add, but this is what I got...

" Thank you for patiently waiting.

We have made a compensation of awc-bnb to you, here's the txHash https://explorer.binance.org/tx/575700ECC7FADA8C80825BA53C1D26B830AEB51084A4B007A9665927BC79BFC1

Let us know if we can help you more."

That is 15 usd... All I can say is do not use this wallet, unsafe, support is not professional, buggy, and I could go on and on.

I would like to thank all of you for your support, had not expected this much of it.

What's completely worrying and baffeling is how atomic wallet can actually convert a doge address to a random btc address and send the btc there . This is a serious mess-up on their end .      Any other wallet would've not allowed the transaction to be sent , but atomic simply converted it and sent it to a random address lol . this is shady af.

Their account has been offline for a long time. I don't know why they are offline. So you are less likely to get support from their account. Thanks OP, many people will be careful of seeing this thread, before using this wallet.

Thanks for letting us know about this wallet and their fraudulent activities. Their support reply proved that they are completely unprofessional and all they are not ready to take the responsibility of your fund. You have already got suggestions to updste your thread by following proper scam report format with necessary evidences.

It doesn’t matter you are new or old in this forum but it really matters if you scammed through this wallet. I wish you will edit your topic soon and community users will keep them far from using this wallet. Don't hesitate to share updates here.

Favelj, it's good that you started this, so while some may think that nothing can be done about it, I think that you should fight for what is yours if there is the slightest chance of succeeding in it. What is also important is that other users know that using this wallet they can experience something like this, and for some 0.10 BTC is a real small fortune, and they certainly do not want to gamble by keeping it in that wallet.

The only thing I would recommend to you is to edit the post in a way that you format the post following the guidelines from Scam Report Format.

Thank you for the heads-up, it really looks like a bug to me and this should be fix ASAP And I don't know how the hell did Atomic wallet not testing this on their side and accept a wrong address on the first place. I really can't fathom the developer mistakes here, at least they should have rigorously tested before releasing this to the market.

It's because either:

(1) they don't have quality testing on their end, at least they have easily captured this and no one would have this problem
(2) their developer overlook it, that's why testing is needed in the first place
(3) they know it before hand, but didn't act immediately until the OP fall for the trap

Point number three is very worrisome, if they know there is a bug they should address it asap and do not let any of their users fall for it, it will just hurt their reputation, after reading this I opened my Atomic wallet and it asked me to update I did update I just don't know if this is one of the issues that was solved by this update.

What happened:
The thing is I have by mistake copied a dogecoin address and pasted it in my Atomic wallets btc section, and it accepted it and not only send that btc with that dogecoin address but also converted that address to a btc address which no can explain who belongs to. After contacing their support they apologized for and admited that there is a bug in their wallet and that bug would be fixed in the next release, but no btc was returned to me.
I have already posted this to the techincal section of the forum https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54833804 and the guys there recomended i open it here also. You can find all the details here.
