Gambling responsibly is not an easy thing to do for everyone who has made gambling a routine activity, even though they have set time limits and also limited the funds they will use for gambling, they will still be breaking these rules themselves, according to I would be better if we could reduce gambling activities rather than limiting funds for betting, because if we gamble too often it will be very difficult for us to be able to control ourselves in the games we play, of course this will be very detrimental to us.
To be able to gamble responsibly, of course we have to obey every rule we make if we don't want to suffer a lot of losses both behaviorally and financially.

Common sense is not enough for a gambler to be responsible in gambling; there are many things a responsible gambler has, and one of the most important is their mind and will. Mind: If a gambler has a strong mind and follows his mind when making decisions, then he or she should know when to stop and what they are doing wrong. From there, they will stop if they see that they are addicted or that gambling is corrupting them. In short, a gambler with good thinking will be aware of what he is doing and can identify if it is wrong or not. A gambler's strong will can stop and limit itself from overgambling or overspending on gambling; in that way, no matter what influence or urge they feel, their will to limit themselves will be more dominant. So aside from what the OP stated, there are more important aspects to be considered for a gambler to be responsible.

And of course this is not an easy thing for us to do. because sometimes, even in the past, we have implemented limits on the gambling activities we carry out, including financial limits and playing time. However, in certain situations, we can lose control and ignore certain limits, so that we gamble more than the specified time and bet more than the previously set budget. So the gambling we do can influence and hinder other activities, and only cause financial losses. And if we often violate these limits, then this has the potential to lead to gambling addiction. This is a very dangerous situation and to minimize the negative impact of this behavior, we must continue to try to remain consistent with the boundaries that we have always set.

Doesnt matter if its on the hard way but at least you had been able to make it out on which this is something that what matter the most. If you are someone whose really that kind of
control towards yourself on the time that you do play gambling then tendency or chances on getting addicted or simply wrecking up your life with gambling is less or not possible at all
since you do have that kind of self control on which this is something that you wont really be able to make yourself that put in great danger when it comes to gambling addiction.
If you are really just that responsible then you wont really be ending up on a disaster on what most people do really heading on on the time that they would really
be having that kind of engagement.

Yes, as long as gamblers still maintain their common sense, this shouldn't be a significant problem. But if it leads to criminal activity, or continues to try to continue gambling even though it has exceeded the limit, this could indicate that he has lost his moral and ethical way. They will become victims of gambling who may not be able to maintain their attitudes and ethics due to their emotional instability

Financial management comes along with self-discipline as the core.  Without self-discipline no matter how knowledgeable we are with financial management it will only end up in our head and not applying it to the game.  At the end of the day, it is how we apply our knowledge of financial management that will affect our gambling game, and how we control the urge to gamble more is most probably the most crucial.

So I believe that all these things listed by @OP will be useless unless the person has self-discipline.

financial management is indeed the vital part in this game. as a gambler, we all know that being in front of your games would entail a discipline from yourself. because it is too easy to follow your desires especially if you are on the losing side. definitely, most of us would want to recover those losses. but before we totally bust our bankroll, better assess your financial situation. are you gonna follow your desires? or pause your games and call it a day? and just come back when you feel you are ready again to sit down and waste more money? i say waste, because the reality is, the chance of losing in gambling is very high as compared to winning. so don't be a hypocrite to yourself. accept such reality. so you know how to handle your boundaries.

I like the aspect that you have talked about gambling limitations and financial managements, these are some of the strong aspects that so many gamblers battles with while gambling because they can't do without haven gone through them, financial management is a serious challenge to some, because they don't know the limit to what extent they are willing to make profits, gamble less and take a break as well as having an effective gambling management practices.

Responsible gambling is common among many people but some people accept it and gamble when they are addicted to gambling and these rules do not work for them. Most gamblers go beyond their limits and once they fall into addiction it is difficult to bring them back. They don't want to understand the good things I think they need to be told about the bad aspects in a group. The understanding of the team members often comes in handy.

I agree that setting limitations and financial management are very important in gambling but then you cannot differentiate them since setting limit is part of financial management. In my understanding, financial management strategy is essential when gambling and one of the aspects of it is setting limitation which is deciding on how much to bet and sticking to it. This limit must depend on the income of the gambler. No one can decide that for the gambler. This is so because what might be a limit for gambler A might be a death call for gambler B. Know your income and set a limit based on your income. This is what accounts for financial management.

Financial management will also make a gambler gamble with the amount he is prepared to lose. Also, financial management will help a gambler understand priority. That is, know when you have another plan and then reduce the money you use for gambling to enable you to save up for the plan. For instance, if you want to buy a car and that will require setting money aside for a few months, you can reduce the amount you use for gambling because you can rely on your savings and cannot rely on gambling. I can conclude that the bedrock for responsible gambling is a good financial management strategy.

If I wish these things can work out to the real gamblers but it wouldn't work out at all. And this is not the first time such threads have been created for us to discuss. And such guidelines are not working bfor the real gamblers as others said in some time past. All those steps you mentioned are good to practice, mostly the number 4 and 5. But the addicted gamblers will not follow any of these things and I believe they are purely meant for the addicted gamblers to avoid huge lose.

Addicted gamblers only need counseling and not telling them to follow steps reduce their gambling career. And why I said gambling career because they have taken gambling has their career in life.

I think financial management has always been the crucial part.
This is where greed and chasing losses come into play. Without financial management or a planned amount to spend, we are not disciplined enough to say it's enough if we lose that amount or a planned winning amount to say enough if we hit that certain number.
Gambling addiction won't happen if we stick with our own rules of the planned amount on both ends.
An example would be losing $10 as a planned amount, we stop, we wait for the next payroll and that's when we could play again. I do that. I don't like spending a lot on gambling because it's just part of my entertainment. Just like now, I lost 70 percent of my planned amount to gamble and I left the remaining 30 percent because I am playing sports too and the game will be later.
I said to myself that I should stop playing casino games or else I wouldn't have enough money to bet on the sports that I prefer later. It's all mental. If we cannot tell ourselves that it's over then we won't stop chasing those losses that many times we cannot even get back whatever strategy we do.
This is why I love sports gambling more than casino games, there, I could win something although the multiplier is low. But the chances of winning is higher than playing against the house.

any source of pleasure can make us dependent but some are definitely better than other, of course
one should always watch their actions and their thoughts and be alert all the time to not deviate too much from a moral and ethical way.

Nothing listed or said in the list op made is new, except to brand new gamblers amongst us, every gambler who is actively participating in gambling discussions on this forum knows well all the rules patterning to responsible gambling, it's just that, most of us actually don't or consciously or unconsciously fail to adhere to some of those rules.

For example, keeping a gambling record, this one is something I personally consider very important, but most gambler aren't doing this, I myself did for some time but stopped along the way, which tells us that some or most (if not all actually) of all this gambling rules require us to apply some will-power and discipline, else, we might just be fooling ourselves.

But in all of this though, I think the most important rule still remains, "only gamble with as much as you can afford to lose", this is golden rule in gambling, every other rules revolves around this one, for losing more than one can afford to lose will definitely cause problems for the gambler, doesn't matter if the gambler is keeping a record or not..

Are you sure about this one? I mean, I completely understand when people try to help, who know what you feel because they experienced the same thing that you are currently going through, but their help is usually a double-edged sword. Many of them could have a warped view of the entire situation due to gambling addiction. So they might end up enticing you to go back to irresponsible gambling practices.

I think going cold turkey on everything about gambling (especially the community) and distracting yourself with something else that is in no way connected to gambling, might be a better idea.

It is the same thing as every other activity meant for entertainment, If there is no limitation, it will cause a problem.

Misunderstanding the terms and conditions of a casino or gambling platform will only lead you to issues later on that you will be trying to resolve.

When you become very active in a gambling community, it can make you a gambler who may be thinking of quitting to keep gambling because of the effect of community membership, quitting will be hard. So we have to be careful because the very support that is sought after from groups and communities, can become a disadvantage.

Gambling alone isn't really a bad thing. It's just that the reputation of it became tainted due to those who abuse it, then later on suffer the consequences of their own actions. Those people who have no self-discipline are the usual ones who you will see fell into the pitfall of addiction. And this is because they don't really take time to set limitations. Most of the time, all they think about is money. Winnings matter above all, to the point they forget about the risks that gambling possesses. Having no strategic plan before entering gambling is what they lack aside from establishing healthy boundaries which surely is a combo recipe for disaster.
