Simply pay the proper fee. Most clients include that functionality by now.

Not necessarily true. At the moment, there are currently more than 140,000 unconfirmed transactions. My last transaction took over 8 hours, and I paid nearly $4 to simply move coins from my hot wallet to an exchange.

Confirmation times will be the downfall of Bitcoin, if a soft fork (at the least) doesn't happen. I personally have made the switch over to LTC, ETH and XMR, simply because of the nearly instant (and much cheaper) transactions. BTC will always be the gold standard, but unfortunately, with more and more people learning about it, the slower that confirmations will become.

Just pay the appropriate fee for quick transactions. Be grown up.

Tell that to the people who are mining BTC on S3s in Venezuela to buy food on Amazon pantry vía purse.io/ and having it smuggled across the border.  Food.

EDIT: To help give you an idea ... .002 BTC is 60 days mining on an S3 (approximately).

No one is going to abandon bitcoin except you.

And me.  I'm moving to LiteCoin, as soon as they get SegWit figured out and this warning on my core node goes away:

1. 2MB blocks
2. 2.5 minute tx times
3. Can buy on Coinbase
4. A couple PH of security (mining)
5. It's not ETH
6. LOW transaction fees (merchant acceptance)

Not everyone is a Bitcoin maximalist.

This was not the bitcoin i had seen!

What in the world has happened to bitcoin

It is almost one day and the transaction has not been confirmed and as a result i am not able to trade in any exchange..

i have heard that the transaction confirmation time has increased but never expected this worst case.. at this rate everyone will soon abandon bitcoin and this is the reason perhaps bitcoin dominance has come down significantly in the crypto space

Welcome back, and you are right.

Things have gotten out of control.

Review my post history to see a lot of the reasons for madness.

The same bitcoin environment doesnot exist today as two years back.Lots of new people now know about bitcoin and its even accepted as a legal payment in japan. With such a big grown network,we couldnot expet the same older transaction fee.Just pay the appropriate fee for quick transactions.Be grown up.No one is going to abandon bitcoin except you.

Welcome to the club, along with 137,000 others. Bitcoin was hijacked and "Core" stopped increasing block size, when they received their self-appointed doctorates in economics.  The debate is commodity vs currency.

You are unlucky to come back in the middle of a spam attack, probably related to the review of the ETF result that will happen in Monday.

In the last spam attack some of my transactions also took some days to be confirmed, but they eventually got confirmed.

Things will return to normality, eventually

Mostly confirmation happens when your transaction payment is low and if you need to fasten this up well its very advisable to increase the payment. And your so hysterical about that and surely bitcoins will not go back for 2 years backward since adoption are pretty much strong and it can be called top of the line right now so better you should wait for your transaction transferred since delays on it is not a rare case.

In all that time you didn't bother to learn how to use Bitcoin? That's unfortunate.

There is more competition to append the block chain these days and if you want to be first in line (priority) you have to outbid other users.
