I created the section.

Ineededausername will not be a mod because he's never reported any posts (as far as I can see), so I can't determine whether he would moderate appropriately.

Heck, if you guys offered subforums to every gambling game, that could be a major source of funding. You shouldn't be afraid of making this forum efficient and profitable. There's a lot of potential money here for the Bitcoin project.

All that leads to is a bunch of small subforums that are hardly used at all, except by a small group of the forum population.  Next thing all of the different alt currencies will want their own forum.

So what? Heh. If people are paying for them, it's not a waste is it? In addition, if they're worth paying for, they will likely be in use.

The key is charging the right price.

You're the owner of the most active Ponzi game site in the Bitcoin economy. I think you've earned the title especially with your nice donation.

So donations should buy mod status?  I would say the other reason (running the biggest ponzi site) is a reason to not be a mod, to at least be fair to anyone else who starts a site/game.

It's not like you guys are running Congress. The forum is private and could easily be a business unto itself. Heck, if it's profitable for you guys to sell mod status and forum territory to Bitcoin games, why not? It may provide a marketing advantage but such is business.

You're going to be the local mod, right? If so, consider stickying the big jackpot to the top of the board.

I'm not sure whether Theymos agreed to that yet.

We'll give you a 20 BTC donation for you to make a separate "Games & Rounds" board.

Fine. Pay here and I'll create it:
1GwinApxnpGij63thBf4PssYFxjiaNt4nm
You will not get donator status from this.

Its description will be something like, "Spreadsheet games, forum-based games, and discussion of individual rounds/games on other sites."

I'm just posting to notify everyone that this 20 BTC has been paid.  I hope there'll be a forum soon Smiley

"spreadsheet games", especially considering that I haven't seen one for months.

I should totally bring the spreadsheet games thing back!

Do it! We'll have a retro day!

Hearken back to the $15 days xD

Isn't bribery illegal in some places? Of course, it could be masked as 'payment'.

It's not bribery. It's pay-for-play, just like you see with all the site wide Poker advertisements. It's also a good idea, though I wouldn't label it as "spreadsheet games", especially considering that I haven't seen one for months.

Theymos, 1GwinApxnpGij63thBf4PssYFxjiaNt4nm will have 20 Bitcoins by this evening. INAU and I are playing the market at the moment. XD

Oh, by the way - thanks for staying awesome.

Today, the pyramid game sites are all dead!
What did you expect? That's what always happens to pyramid schemes.
Unfortunately, I do have to agree with this point.

Going back to your earlier concerns, theymos...
I could create a category just for simple, no-work games, but would anyone really read that section? Many of the Bitcoinduit topics have only 0-2 replies.
This thread asserts that it would be read. It would also have an additional purpose if we use my "Games and Rounds" idea: People can more easily announce tournaments and weekly lotto draws, etc., in addition to pozi games. It would also allow the sites' main threads to be more focused on discussing the sites themselves, instead of individual games.

Now, it just comes down to technical concerns. Would the spam cause the forum to increase its database size to more than it can handle? Would it be too spammy?

We'll give you a 20 BTC donation for you to make a separate "Games & Rounds" board.  I think that it would revive ponzi without creating any spam troubles for the "main" gambling forum and thus it should be a no-brainer.  I really don't get your problem with "0-2 replies"... as long as it brings business and fun to Bitcoin...
