indeed the lotteries are dominate by poor people because they expect hit the jackpot and being rich people but beside that i think rich people still gambling but the different is they only pick the particular games to satisfied their hobbies and possibly rich people gamble only for fun and because they already rich then they does not care if they lost and back to gamble for the next day
Poor people gamble to become rich but rich people gamble for what?? They rich already so they are looking for another excuse , usually it's for the priceless satisfaction. But there also some people who never feel enough collecting money so rich people could still gamble to become more rich which it's never ending purpose. So yeah that's my opinion.

Rich people do this gambling for the fun and they ave free time and money so they can gamble better than poor people while people have no money they can not afford gambling so for me gambling is good while those who are expert in the gambling they don't fear about  the betting and games they also bet on racing horse games and many other games so for me now this is a good opportunity to use online money for online casinos and many other activities

Well you can say that the poor person's mindset tells them to go for the goal of winning the jackpot because they using talk themselves into saying
"I got nothing more to lose!" Grin
While the rich people didn't get that way by accident and do not usually take that mistake in taking on too much risk where it will bankrupt them.
I am not saying it has not happened but it rarely happens to these sort of people.
Actually, some of the rich make gambling as only entertainment while some poor make this as source of income. But some of them are lose what they have.

Well the article focus on lottery, so it makes sense that you have a larger % of poor people playing the lottery than rich people. The lottery is like a dream to be rich, and there are more poor people than rich people in the world - 1%. So you have 99% trying to be part of that 1% group so statistically more poor people play the lottery. For the other types of gambling mostly mid-up scale, casinos, horse racing etc. It is a matter of entertainment for the rich and nothing else. They don't need the money.

I'm placing this quote from the article which I find very convincing:

Quote
One study finds that recent lottery winners have lower levels of happiness than do those who have recently become quadriplegic.

I think this words should be written on every lottery billboard as well as "Smoking kills" on every pack of cigarettes.

LOL! In spite of having read the article, I didn’t pay attention to that final sentence.

I, simply, don’t believe it. I would like to see the sample and the conditions of that study to assess the reliability, but I think if many such studies are carried out, others are going to show the opposite.

The only way I think that makes sense it is because make lottery winners are more worried about their money getting stolen or something, and those who have become quadriplegic are grateful to be still alive. But I think in 90%+ of the cases it is going to be the opposite.

Actually, the title of this post is an overstatement, but it helps you to get the idea. Rich people play fewer games of chance than poor people, and they risk a lower percentage of their income.

This article talks about it but only focused on the lottery, although I believe it can be applied to gambling in general:

https://edition.cnn.com/2013/12/18/opinion/lottery-poor-just-opinion/index.html

Why do you think this happens?

I suppose it is because people with a rich person’s mindset think mostly about buying assets with their money whereas people with a poor person’s mindset only think about spending their money, and the only way they can think of becoming wealthy is by hitting the jackpot.

This is a great article. The stats it presents I was never aware of. It says that the average yearly per capita spending on lottery tickets in Massachusetts is nearly $800. Which means, considering that not every child or adult buys the tickets, that more than $2,000 on average is spent every year by a gambler on the lotteries. This is a big money especially for the poor, who, according to the article, constitute a majority of the gamblers. It is sad actually that the poor people become even poorer following the false hope.

I'm placing this quote from the article which I find very convincing:

Fifty fifty i think, because i think rich people will focus more on their business to get more money and the rest rich people who already so much money don't know how to spend it so they go to gambling. I believe rich people also gambling but they gambling is just for fun, for entertain themselves not for making easy money.

agree with you, although they like to play gambling, they know that they don't spend too much because they still want to produce more money from their business. once rich people play gambling, they can make a big bet in the table but they don't chase the winning money but they only want to enjoy the games.
But however that depends on the personality of each the rich people, the rich or the poor people., it will have a different response to gambling with the purpose their has. Sometimes the rich people due they feel more addict, they can't stay away from gambling and continue to spend money with the purpose of doubling their money without realizing how much money they spending out.
And I think., in gambling, it's more rich people who are closer to gambling than poor people.

they people know that gambling is not the right choice to make it rich, gambling is actually throwing our money away, even if we win big one day we will definitely get a successive defeat and end up not having any money at all, people can invest or trade, that's what they do

May I know what's your basis for this? I know some people who are rich but they still gamble, they gamble because they don't know where to waste their money and gambling is the best way to waste while having fun. Just think logically, why poor people will gamble more when the fact that they don't have lots of money? It's just crazy to think tho.

Actually that is partly true. Two reasons why I believe so. First is that rich people don't really need the money they expect to win from their bets since they are already rich, unlike poor people that wants to get rich quick. Second, the amount of money they bet is for sure far larger than someone poor even if the poor person bets 100% of his money since for example if the poor person has $1,000 to bet and the rich person bets 1% of his $10,000,000 then he bets $10,000.

who is often misunderstood about gambling is the notion that one should not give up fast in gambling. If you lose once, you have to keep playing because who knows the next round we're lucky. This is clearly a wrong understanding. Although your chances of winning are wide open, it is still possible that you will lose again as much.

Referring to the title, there must be a gamble and definitely not. All things in the world is done by all circles. Probably many rich people who do not gamble because they focus more on their business, busy and no time to gamble, but a rich gambler is definitely there.

Perhaps it has a lot of comparison, for example 30% of the rich and 70% of the poor who play gambling, because I still often find rich people who gamble in big money, but on the one hand the rich are very royal to spend their money.

I think it is not true that rich people don't gamble. I know some people who are rich but they still gamble. Maybe they gamble not to earn money but it is still gambling. Rich people usually gamble to have some fun or maybe a stress reliever of some sort.

Rich people play fewer games of chance than poor people
Casinos are full of rich people who are gambling, and if someone think that there is bigger amount of poor people who are gambling than rich gamblers, it is only because there are more poor people than rich people.

Not from what I have seen.
