He did this standup scene where a drunk Scottish man invents golf.....it's the funniest thing I've ever heard. He was the real deal. We really need to find a real way to deal with depression, because the drugs/therapy we have now is not working. RIP

Just want to add my RIP Robin Williams to this thread.

There was something about the guy that was genuine, intelligent and compassionate. Of course, I never knew the bloke personally, but his roles in both "Dead Poets Society" and "Good Will Hunting" meant that when I heard the news this morning I left the house for work still wiping the remnants of tears from my eyes.

Too bad, I did not expect to see that he died.  Often it seems like some of the greatest minds, at whatever they focus on, are depressed but they work hard at what they do to escape their depression.

Let it be a lesson, even if it doesn't look like a co-worker or family member needs help, they might, so check in with them , really really check in.

Disappointing. It seems all the great comics are either dead or on their way out. I'll go out on a limb and say Louis CK is the youngest great remaining, remembering he already has one foot out the door. Not sure if they set the bar too high or if we're just a failing generation.
