why is ripple not yet on cryptsy? its quiet long on the top there

I'd say lack of community support and a mix low interest by potential investors to make the implementation to the Ripple system worthwhile.  If coins don't get attention they get moved after a short while from exchanges.  Ripple has been around for a while so I expect their to be many more rise and falls in the future and this piece of news is part of why I feel that way.

How did XRP end up being considered as any type of investment in the first place?

Surely in a properly functioning Ripple system it's supposed to nothing more than the lubricant that allows it to run.

Just for the fun of it.
Why not make a couple of millions on the sideline?

The good thing is, you could do it over and over again, like with real money.
You issue whatever you want, you find buyers and its considered to be growth, although nothing really happened.

Old money elite now endorsing crypto fashionably late ... way too late, or is it all part of their master plan.

I'm glad a couple of others have mentioned the fact that you can't pre-mine a coin which doesn't have any mining, and the fact that Ripple itself (although not the internal currency XRP) actual pre-dates Bitcoin.

But I also have to say its definitely not a strong buy at the moment because there is big selling going on from Jed McCaleb and his giant founders share, which is going to make it difficult for the price to go up a lot any time soon.

Long term I'm very bullish on Ripple, but not short term. Next year at least I'd say.

I heard that argument before and I think he dumped some already.
But Jed would be a complete idiot to dump it all now, once things really start to materialize.

And if so, I'm sure there will be enough buyers now, glad to pick up his coins for the actual rate or less.
So still - VERY STRONG BUY!

People have been tracking his selling. Half of the Ripple community seems to have turned into amateur detectives, tracking down Jed's various wallets and monitoring his selling. He is not crashing the price - but he is eating up all the demand for XRP right now and can keep going for quite some time at the current rate. Of course that doesn't mean he won't adjust his prices if demand increases though, so it is still possible that the price could rise; it just depends how much he needs quick cash for his new super secret Bitcoin project (probably called stellar ?http://gostellar.com?).

Some estimates suggests it may be > 1 year before Jed has sold everything, if that is indeed what he plans to do.

Yeah, sadly the average ratio between loud mouthing and knowledge of facts is terrible on this forum.
The affiliation with every other shit coin is very strong on the opposite.

In fact, its what most of the loud mouths here would be praying for.
One of the "Masters of the universe" coming along and pick their little shitcoin and throw some money at it.
Now that its happening, its wrong again. You people are mental.
Do you think we're gonna have a transformation of the system Mao Tse Tung style?

And Litecoin? It had a bit of a dead cat bounce, to sucker in more bagholders.
The expectations are high, the chart looks so tempting, but I think its not gonna make it again.

Yes.. let's buy a coin which is 98% premine by a company.  It must make people feel nice to know you are trading $Fiat for magical coins so some executive can afford a private jet.

You cannot premine a non mineable coin. As NEM investor you should know that Smiley

Further more, only 27% of coins have currently been distributed because its still in Beta and they dont want to screw distribution like many other coins did (will not name names but we know that some coins got distributed to only 5 friends of founder, or even possible that founder was all of those 5 friends).

On top of that, out of 27 billion currently distributed coins over 10 billion was donated to good causes (9 billion by CEO or his entire stash, and around 1 billion by Jed McCalleb who might donate rest of it too) so that makes Ripple the MOST altruistic coin out there. More money was donated by Ripple then is currently largest investment round in any of BitCoin companies.

What astonishes me the most is complete ignorance of most of Crypto community. Did you know that Ripple White Paper was created in 2005 and was PRIMARY tool used by Satoshi to make Bitcoin? Without Ripple there is NO ANY OTHER CRYPTO, full stop.

No, its not. This is a bad move by anyones standards. The guy was a scammer even before he got into crypto.......and he has a silly name.

He left the stage quite honorable.
He is of the powers to be, heavyweight.
Some newly rich folk would pay billions for that name...

The castle of one of his ancestors used to be on the 500 Deutsche Mark bill.
Its a quite a pretty shack, I've been there.

This is a major change of directions for anything crypto.
And the RIPPLE system has what it needs, the coin will rise with it, 100%

How fucking creepy would be living there? imagine spending a night alone there.

What are you afraid of, your face in the mirror?

The personality is perceived in a strange way here.
Maybe because its for real, and not something you have seen on your last trip to Disneyland, or in your favorite Hollywood fuckup.

Most of the commenters either don't know what they are talking about, and most probably have never bothered to understand how Ripple works, what it is, at all.

Not wanting to hate on Ripple, but I have no problem with hating on idiot aristos who were born with a golden spoon in their mouths and still feel the need to cheat their way thru life.

Never forget that these guys ancestors stole everything they own at the point of a sword.
One of the core beliefs at the heart of the crypto movement is to take back control of the financial systems from thieves like this, not to give them more of our money.
