Undoubtedly, Rollbit is not a scammer. First of all, you have done a mistake by sending the payment to another network. All the community knows that sending on other networks means lost funds.

Does the Casino support asking for money to recover lost funds?
Exchange/gambling sites might have access to those networks too. That happened to Rollbit too. In this case, if they can recover those funds then they may charge for that service. If it is free then a lot of time wasters/scammers/competitors may abuse it and keep busy handling this type of transaction. So the site must take a fee for this type of service.

@OP as the fee is more than your deposit just think that you have deposited correctly and you have lost on the bet as there was no guaranty that you would be able to win on the gambling.

You nailed it right. It's not only about paying the devs' costs. Actually devs aren't going to do anything here, it's the admin who have the keys for the exchange/casino's wallets. It's more about the risks involved in exposing those keys by importing them into another wallet/chain.

This scam accusation is valid only if the coins sent to the wrong chain get moved.

In this case, The casino can simply say the fund is lost and cannot be recovered. They don't have to ask for a $200 charge to recover just $50 which doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not gonna pay attention to the cost, what I think is that the customer will be led to say "I won't pay" because they are actually refusing to help in a subtle way. Had the OP lost $500, maybe support would have asked for $2k recovery charge.

Note: I'm talking about cases in general, it could be that rollbit has other reasons or they do indeed charge that fee at any amount.

After I had finished reading OP claims and complaints, I had to check the casino representative profile here and I discovered that the representative last came online 2 of January which almost 1 month plus till now. It is obvious that the casino presence here is not recognized as they are not a popular casino but based on OP complaint, I it advised to always cross check your wallet address, chain and destination for which you are sending funds to so that you could not send to the wrong address but op failed in his or her own part and I like the fact that op admitted to the mistake made so when next op is doing any transfer, OP would properly check the Wallet address and chain properly. Lastly, how can a casino request for afee far much higher than what is sort after. This is worrisome that the casino could stoop so low to have made such demand are they desperate to scam people that way?

Yes, I'm an asshole
As explain above, i has similar case with other casino betcoin.ag , and they revocery cause they aware about they are able to access privatekey.

If there not such help by team rollbit, it's fine for me. let's my 50$ is gone. just hoping there never spend my BUSD, it's disgusting.

Just make open my mind about rollbit, there are such not help or care enough for costumer.

It's just hurt for they are able to help, but choose to earn money to fixed that.

I'm not avoid my fault, not blame here.

Wouldn't you agree, then, that your thread title is a little bit misleading. They're not stealing your deposit, and unless you have proof that the amount sent to the wrong chain was, is, or will be recovered and spent by them, the statement is rather false.

Snip

In this case, The casino can simply say the fund is lost and cannot be recovered. They don't have to ask for a $200 charge to recover just $50 which doesn't make sense to me. One of my friends works with an online casino and he said if we have access to the fund, we just credit their balance manually. I know all casinos don't work the same way. Let's say the fund is more than $500. In this case, they may charge $200 developer fees to recover the funds and I believe OP would make complaints but he would agree with them to pay the charge.

And in that case, people would throw accusations against them, saying that they lied because there is actually a way --or two-- to recover it, and conclusively they're untrustworthy. Instead, they state it out front that they can recover it but there will be fees charged for it, and they asked politely if the customer would agree with it. If the customer didn't agree, they didn't force them to.

I've asked Rollbit Razer to come to this thread and let's see if they can give their insight on that 200$ fee. But their last online date was a week ago. If anyone has a link to their tg, I'm more than willing to rely the message there too just to get to the bottom of this --IMO-- unnecessary accusation. Not discord, fb, or twitter, please.

Does it make sense to anyone?

It makes sense on my side, from several similar cases that I've found it can even charge more than that.

The recovery process isn't as simple as it sounds. If let's say rollbit has the same system as cexes wallet in general (deposit funds are swept every few minutes). The privkeys is generated automatically by the system which is then collected together with thousands of other privkeys in 1 safe which is tightly locked by the master key (1st rule) and it should never be opened (2nd rule). If you have to find a privkey linked to OP address, you must have the ability and the credentials to access the master key, open the safe and scramble it (contrary to the 2nd rule). Up to this point, the safe has actually leaked and you are the only person who will be sued if anything unexpected happens.

Hey there,

On the deposits page it’s clearly stated on each of the options only to deposit over the correct chain.
The reason that there is a fee to restore the transaction is that it takes the developers time out of completing other tasks to return something that could’ve been prevented by the user themselves.

Sorry OP but as other members have explained: there is no scam here.
When you open your rollbit wallet and try to make a deposit you will see a warning stating that you must deposit over the Ethereum network and you must not use the BNB or BSC networks.
In fact, most casinos/exchanges will tell you they can't help in such case. Rollbit's offer to recover your funds for a $200 isn't worth it, but for some others it might be seen as a great/fair deal considering the risks involved.

This is not a scam. No one twisted your arm and made you send that transaction. At best, this is a reputation issue which shows that Rollbit is only willing to help in such cases if they are compensated generously for that effort.

I am not going to go into details if they deserve such a fee, but their team of developers have certain daily tasks and duties they need to complete. Those tasks don't involve recovering coins and tokens sent to wrong addresses or wrong chains. If you want them to do that, pay for it. It's a positive thing that the service is available because many casinos and crypto exchanges won't bother to do it at all. The fee isn't worth it in OP's case.

Sadly, your money is gone unless they change their mind. The casino didn't scam you, and I don't think any neutral observers will object.

@OP Sorry for your loss, but dude it's your fault that you deposited your BUSD on a different chain that Rollbit does not support, I don't see any kind of scam here, if you send them $200 you will be able to return the $50 you deposited on another chain, and this is a fee you will pay to the developer team to take the time to try to recover the money you lost, do you want them to work for you and lose their time for nothing? It is recognized in any platform that if you send your crypto to an unsupported network, your crypto will simply be lost, this is not their fault, excuse me for saying that.

And the asking charge for recovering is quite funny but it's worth to ask I think. Maybe they are getting such type of ticket everyday, and they decided to ask the charge.

Precisely this is what I was talking about. Yes, It's funny they are asking for money to recover the funds even though they know that the user won't spend $200 to recover $50. They should get such tickets daily when you do not support native chains for the coins. Suppose you have Bitcoins and want to deposit somewhere; what if it's a BSC chain instead of Bitcoin's native chain? For Bitcoin, You should support the native chain first and then the side chains. For Bitcoin - Native Bitcoin chain, For ETH - ERC20 Chain, For TRX- TRC20 Chain, For BNB and BUSD - BSC chain. Those are native chains for those coins. People are used to it. Suppose you do not support the main chain of the coin and support side chains only. That's quite funny as well.

I don't think any platform will help you to recover your fund if you send it to wrong chain address. But yeah if you send it to same chain but different token that is not supported by the platform, if they want theh can help you in this case.

Of course it's your fault from the start, you should have paid attention and double checked the correct network and address. But in return, it is unreasonable for them to ask $200 to get back $50!!

It is true that the ETH address is the same as the BSC address but the two networks are completely different, also even if you have access to the private keys of the wallet you will not be able to recover the wrong deposit on the Binance network, I think that needs technical support from Binance and this costs a fee.

So the best solution is to forget them and make sure well before depositing in the next times.

By recovering your funds, they will need to manually input their seed phrase on BUSD20 network just to recover your funds plus the gas fee involves since they are not using that particular wallet before. I believe admin fee is necessary since this is put of their service scope but 200$ fee is a bit high for a simple task like that.

If I am not wrong, casinos have fixed hired developers who constantly work for them. Yes, they need some network fees, and it's not high for the BSC network. Why would they ask for $200 when they can do it themselves? I don't think this is the first time a user has sent funds to the wrong chain. It happens more requests, especially if it's an active casino with many users. They have to do it once, and they will recover the funds next time if another user makes the same mistake.

Or else, They can deny the user. They don't have to ask for money.

I'm in an agreement with dimonstration, how is this a scam? It's a shitty situation, true, extremely frustrating, arguably, but I can't see how this is a scam case that deserves to be raised on this board. Even OP admitted couple of times on their post that it's their fault and that Rollbit's answer is right,

My mistake to deposit to BUSD (BEP20) they must ERC20,  I aware didn't read carefully should deposit type network ERC20.

[...]

They actually has able system wallet, but they said my mistake to their wallet are as they right.

They've scammed OP nothing so far.

Nonetheless, I'll try PMing their representative, Rollbit Razer, to see if he has an insight for this problem.

it probably includes the hourly pay rate of what their team get paid off(it is still quite high though) it is also probably a way to encourage people not to make the same mistake again since it could become a hassle for them if people continuously making this kind of mistake and then fixing it for free or for a very low price.

In the beginning, you yourself admitted that you were wrong because you didn't pay attention to the network needed to deposit, you were simply negligent and careless. So Rollbit cannot be blamed just because you have experience on other platforms and try to generalize it in different places. Don't try to twist a case when you yourself started it by mistake. You lead opinions as if Rollbit should follow your will like on other platforms. They have rules and you don't read them, or you are again careless.

Some casino is very strict regarding wrong network and they are doing this recovery manually which is out scope of their work. You are the one at fault here so this obviously not a scam because they are not liable at your fault if they display correct network name for their deposit address.
