It doesnt really matter does it. Back then, most crypto project used facebook and twitter then after facebook banned crypto ads then people moved away from it and discord was probably one of the other option back then

Its not hard to follow all their social account but I not sure though with Discord if its already full or not and I rarely use Discord because of so many fake people and scammer.

Actually scammers are present everywhere waiting for you to take some action that could lead you in their trap so we need to be more careful on our end to be safe from all these attacks.I sometimes get message from unknown one's on telegram also like their project is offering huge bonus and all that stuff but i simply ignore it which is way better than losing your funds.
