P106-100 6GB very old video cards, analogue of GTX 1060 for mining. I don't want to compare hashrate and power consumption
What's wrong with comparing hashrate/power usage between generations? Pascal only has 25% worse H/W compared to Turing on FLUX or XEQ. ETH is irrelevant because it will disappear one day.

If I can get a P106 6GB for $70 or a RTX 2060 super for $300 while I pay just 5.4¢/kWh effective for power, the choice is obvious. Even when accounting for the price of the system parts, the P106 has more profit per dollar.

The P106 6GB is not the same with the RTX 2060 Super which is 8 GB and can mine Ethereum more than the P106 6GB,the difference in hash rate is almost double in RTX 2060 Super which can do like 44.25 Mhsh compared to the near 25 Mhsh of the P106 6B so I don't see any real comparison between the two cards with RTX 2060 Super clear being the superior.I am thinking seriously to upgrade my mining rig with 1 such card or two of them and I will get almost 90 Mhsh for just 240 Watt which is not that bad, definitely the best card to buy now in our time as it is really cheap in price now.

Even if Eth disappears one day,ETC surely will be with us until the end of time as the developers of ETC told us they will keep it in PoW for as long as it will exist.
I would not bet on Ethereum mining classic because there will be a lot of ASICs that will go there after Ethereum mining.

I see a lot of offers to sell the 1660S video card, probably because it does not give the best performance when mining other coins.

In this days lower power consumption beats high hashrate so dear brother, a rig full of GTX 1660 supers consumes less power than a rig full of RTX 2060 Super, that's if efficiency is your thing though.

1660S and 2060S have nearly the same hash per watt ratio with a little plus for the 2060S - so your comparison is nuts. You write in your last sentence - efficiency and efficiency is watt per hash / hash per watt.
And you need less cards for same hash with the 2060S - give you also more efficiency.

I don't see anything wrong with comparing these cards, but I don't want to start mining in Q3 2022 on cards that were released in 2017-2018. I prefer to buy more modern video cards to mine for another 4-5 years if there are profitable coins.

Who is thinking about buying new or used video cards, then check out this thread. Settings, overclocking, consumption, hashrate. The price of this video cards is very attractive and 8 GB of memory on board.

The RTX 2060 super is definitely good at non-ETH algorithms, but I can find the P106-100 6GB cards for much cheaper per hash.

Nice to see video but it`s hard to analyze information without any spreadshits. Can you make some of them in a video? Hashes, power consumption, hashes per watt, ROI. With several nearby GPUs to compare.

Thanks for the input, this was a quicker video where I didn't create the spreadshits prior. I'll create some infographics/spreadsheets for the next one Cheesy

I was in a hurry and had a dispute about kinds of shits at the same time Smiley Sorry, i really hadnt a purpose to injury you Smiley spreadsheets of course Smiley

Haha no the spreadshits is the best part about this whole thread!

Always share with spreadshits pls...Without it ,it's meaningless..Pls share this topic too.

It really depends on what you plan on mining and if you are going to be using it for mining only or plan on putting it into a gaming system in the future. The 1660 super is a nice compromise with the GDDR 6 but the 6 gb of memory is disappointing especially when you look at a 1660 board tear down and see they left  room for 8 gb on the board design.
Surely. For games i have 1050ti and it`s enough for me Smiley The problem that i see is new algos - they are using more and more memory. It can become a problem. And i don`t want to buy memory and solder it by myself.

Really i cant understand why 1660 have 6GB only.
It's just where it fits in with the rest of the lineup, If you want 8 GB you get a bigger card.
It have places for 2 more memory cells.

I high end 16xx would be nice, don't need no ray tracing for mining.

The ideal Nvidia GPU would be a non-RTX model with 8gb of ram  and a 256bit bus but unfortunately all the good gtx 1650-1660 cards only have 6gb at most and are 128 or 192-bit. The RTX cards consume too much power for a next generation card and the RTX cores seem to be for the most part useless.
I can agree with u but just about 8GB. Really i cant understand why 1660 have 6GB only. And RTX cores right now are mostly for games but GDDR6 memory look more attractive as for me.
Now i cant decide what is the best choice - 1660 or 2060(s)

So many models of GPUs this series, omg when does it end? lol

THO: finally it seems like were getting to the end of it Smiley  1660 or 2060 Supers will be the best of the RTX for mining?
ill have to watch this and see i guess!
vid liked

haha yeah its honestly tiring ... this is absolutely GPU saturation, we are overwhelmed as miners, gamers have so much to sift through as well lol

Yeah I'm thinking one of those cards will be the best, leaning towards the 2060 super but shrug we will see -- honestly at this rate we will probably see another new card drop by the end of the year

Also always appreciate your support cjmapope Cheesy, you're a breath of fresh air on bitcointalk
