Is the verification message sent out as html only or something?

Using my web-based mail service, I only see the text:
"[Rugatu] - Your email validation link Rugatu"

My webmail does not show it as a link.

I've had this problem before with another service, and the only way to fix it was for multipart e-mail to include a plain text version as well.

What are your plans to monetise the platform wrt advertising etc ?

In order to support the servers and bandwidth costs the service keeps 5% from a question's reward, faq.
We didn't look into advertising yet, but is definitely a must.

Theres lots of possibilities there. For example you could charge advertisers to ask questions about their service or site and share part of the income with people who answer it. Its  a good way to do market research etc.

Disclosure: I bought some shares  Cheesy

Sorry, that's not what I meant.
I mean, can I be notified (email, RSS) when someone asks a new question? Because right now, all the good ones are taken.

Yes, indeed, you will have set-up your notifications of your account. Click"User tools" in your your profile dashboard, then "email notification settings". Under the line that reads "Auto subscribe me to:" you can check one all of the option you have there

Is there a way to subscribe to new questions, or new questions with such-and-such a tag?

Yes, you are auto-subscribed to questions you answer or you can click "subscribe-me" button on the right panel.
On the main page you can add or ignore tags in the tag admin block. It has the "Interesting tags" and "Ignored tags" in it. Only works when logged in that's why you probably didn't see it.
