I don't think this would be successful as he would just be using his name just to sell coins. If this was true and may happen, Maybe just little people will just invest.

Who would even invest in those coins. I don't see this being a serious project if it was true though, just using celebrities just to sell coins.

It is great to know that the Champ of our people is interested in cryptography. For my money, I do not see a problem with that because money is not a problem for Manny. Do you have links to this? The goal seems to be to sell cards based on celebrities.

This is very awesome If this is not a fake news. It's nice to hear that our People's Champ shows some interest in crypto. This is a winning situation for all Filipino crypto holders out there because this will serve as strong encouragement for others to also engage themselves into crypto making our community grow bigger.  I'm pretty sure that many skeptic people out there will change their kind of thinking about bitcoin since a big and trustworthy personality like Manny Pacquiao also believe in it.

Regarding to his own coin, I don't see any problem with that because money is not a problem for Manny. He could definitely  provide fund for his own ICO and promoting it is not a big deal anymore since his name is famous eneough to do the job. If this will do come true then his coin will become the first local coin here in the Philippines (as far as I know).

definitely not the first local coin in the philippines. hehe
see this https://dmb-currency.com/gallery/Cgallery.html, the first coin in the philippines that exist until now. listed on coinmarketcap and many exchanges already.

I think it is just a rumor. But if this gossip is possible also to become true because Manny Pacquiao is a rich person. In fact, he has many assets and properties. It is normal for him to make his own coin as long as he can manage it.

In my opinion, it is not a good idea since he is a Senator of the Philippines and he cannot do two things simultaneously specially that he cannot leave the boxing ring. I think he cannot focus on his ICO whenever he conduct it.

Depending on the platform, and if supported by the Senator. Manny the Bitcoin big demand can be entered because many people will be encouraged by our Senators. This is definitely one of the possible bitcoin breakthroughs most likely to emerge. That's why these humors are so real that we can get rid of all of our losses.

I do not know how much this news is true, but there have already been cases when another very famous boxer Floyd Mayweather promoted one project and said he supports crypto-currencies and uses them. I think there will be more cases to attract attention.

This reminds me of dogecoin and how it started. This is one example of riding the trend with no background whatsoever. And it's not good to launch such a coin when Filipinos still need to be informed and educated about technology of bitcoin and blockchain as well as investment in general. On the other hand, it might lead to a sudden surge in interest since Pacquiao is a man of the masses. Personally, I don't think it is a good idea at all.

No. Absolutely not. Why does he need his own token? This act is not equal to supporting Bitcoin. This is riding the crypto waves. Supporting Bitcoin should be something like running your own node, mining, or simply donating for its development.

I really love the fact that cryptocurrency is gaining widespread adoption but this is too far. This is where popular figures are just using their names and hijacking crypto hype for their own wallet. Not good at all, absolutely useless.

Where did you read it?? Do you have the link to this?
All I found related is: http://blocktribune.com/crypto-firm-gcox-signs-manny-pacquiao/

In the note, there is said it is a kind of "Celebrity tokens", and it is done by an exchanger page. The goal seems to be to sell tokens based on celebrities.
I don't see this as a serious project, and they don't explain in detail what it is about!
this is might be the correct link related this thread and the tokens seems was made specially for his fans and the tokens also can use to access Pacquiao exclusive live streams, merchandise, and more and the name of this tokens is PAC Coins however i didn't see any special here besides crypto common project

Pacquiao supporting bitcoin will be a useful endorsement, at least in the Philippines but I don't see why he would need his own token or what good that would be. I imagine this is probably one of his advisors telling him to do this because it's a way to make a quick buck.

The revolutionary Export system/One-click Export
If it is true then it is overall good for crypto in the sense more people will shift their attention to it. I doubt anything can become of Pacquiao's token although I wouldn't put it past the Filipino people they love that man to the core they do!

It's just a rumor for now. Lets wait for the official announcement that will be released formally by their speakers.
Hope we can read more about this so we can see how they really react on the blockchain technology.

This thing would be great if this is not a scam because pacquiao is financially ready for this kind of market, but i think most likely this is a scam so I don't really trust this kind of news. Beware of fake news guys.
