Ever since russia is very active in improving their military service and in my own opinion i guess before they were trying to consider bitcoin as a treat to the country as it can be used for illegal business.

I think there worry is mainly the fact that BTC is an open exchange with rubles with USD and other currencies indirectly through the exchange since these determine the price of USD, good move from their side though because it's just a waste of time to put restrictions on Crypto's IMO.

Dunno what you're intent, but certainly that the price of something that's not a bitcoin adverse us when bitcoin has decreased prices. Because the bitcoin is a digital currency that already have a very strong foundation, so the price drop happens will not get bad effects

Russia has always been one of the most hostile regimes towards Bitcoin. There were drafts proposing to criminalize the use of Bitcoin with a penalty of up to 3-5M Russian rubles (over $50,000) or even with a term in prison. But just a few days ago the last such proposal was scrapped, and it seems that the authorities are no longer trying to turn Bitcoin users into criminals.

In July the Russian Ministry of Finance had stated that it intended to allow citizens to buy cryptocurrency for the purpose of reselling, exchanging, and using beyond Russia. At the same time, the same proposal suggested banning Bitcoin mining since it was considered as issuance of currency. And just a month later Alexei Moiseyev, Russia’s deputy minister of finance says that the ministry (which has long tried to pass a bill to ban digital currencies altogether) denounces any direct ban of Bitcoin.

So it looks like the last unassailable fortress standing between Bitcoin and its universal recognition across the world is about to collapse
This is a good news where people now can start using their bitcoin , they don't need to hide whenever they using it . because they can freely use it people nowadays can earn more than they are earning on there monthly salary because russians are good in trading , let's all thanks the Russian Ministry of Finance

they must have stolen enough Bitcoin now it seems they own enough to make it legal, they must have also

build up a few decent mining rigs,

Well, you confirm my suspicions that FBI, CIA, NSA, and whatever fucking agencies might be there that I've never heard about before are in fact tea-boys at the beck and call of the Russian FSB (former KGB)... Is that you on the avatar?

I know that I asked this before but didn't see you answer

Always thought that Russia have hated free enterprise and bitcoin to me is just that. Anyone can be a millionaire with it and since they don't have control of that they would like to abolish it.

Can mining rewards really be considered as an "issuance of currency"? If it is issued then there should be an issuer. The problem with is they cannot point who exactly. So if someone in Russia still decides to mine bitcoin or any other POW coin for that matter then which "issuer" are they going to imprison?

The laws prohibiting the issuance of foreign currencies mainly refer to the fact that such an issuance would essentially be an instance of counterfeiting that currency. Obviously, this can hardly be related to Bitcoin, but allowing Bitcoin mining and accepting it as a foreign currency would require changing way too many laws. So the easiest path to take seems to officially ban Bitcoin mining completely...

Since no one is going to take this into account anyway

The Russian government also does not have a clear narrative on why they considered BTC as a currency. It is all not very clear and different from country to country. There was a judge in Florida that junked a case versus a man who was accused of money laundering using bitcoins. He was freed because the judge said that it is not real money so therefore no money laundering took place.

its nice that they started accepting it because in my opinion in this way more russians will be using it

Definitely this is aa plus  sign  for bitcoin world wide adoption.  For several years russia had been hostile to  bitcoin and bitcoin user.  It is a great news that they are  now removing their hostility to bitcoin.  I am hoping to see more and more new comer from russia will be seen and the related value will at least increse or stable at least.

Dudes I would bet my left nut that 90% of the computer-savvy population of Russia has been mining Bitcoins & alt-coins since the dawn of crypto mining. Russians are specialists in apartment-based crypto farms anyways  Grin Have they ever stopped mining? I highly doubt so  Grin
They don't care about any kind of 'stupid' government laws. They care about they own well being. Enforcing any kind of law against people in Russia is basically impossible.
There was situation that Bitcoin usage after some of their "previous bans" was even higher than than when bitcoin was 'legal'.

It seems like even some of the strongest resistances to Bitcoin eventually fall and Bitcoin is allowed lol. I'm glad to see that Russia has finally opened up to the concept of a population with access to cryptocurrencies, however I fully understand that they would have been wary of it at first. Regardless of that though, this is some great news (even though it's a month or so old).

Wow this is a good news to the bitcoin community. But I do hope that it may also affect the price inflation so that we can enjoy the benefits of the price surge. Moreover we can earn more on signature campaigns and online jobs and our savings of bitcoin in our wallet could be actually used to be converted to cash. But aside from that hopefully Russia will be beginning to love bitcoin and not stop using this cryptocurrency.

That's good news it will be beneficial to many Russians it can be a source of income. Maybe they change their mind because they see lots of opportunities bitcoin can offer. Now Russian gave freedom to those who wants to learn and earn at the same time.
