Given the current relations between Russia and the West particularly NATO countries this could actually be bullish since it is very unlikely that the US and the EU would follow Russia's lead here. My take is that Bitcoin and other crypto currencies pose a very big threat to weak fiat currencies especially those where there is very tight control of the economy by the state. It is a sign of weakness of the Rouble vs the US Dollar and the Euro.

Edit: This could get very interesting if the US government sees Bticoin and other crypto-currencies as a way to get back at Russia.

deputy finance minister's don't set laws, and neither do the police,

"but the overall concept of the law is set in stone"

RT has been digging around in the bottom of the barrel to put out a story like this,

baseless, zero facts, using a prop goverment official assistant to talk nonsense

then they use a photo from,  Reuters made by Benoit Tessier

who is the RT reporter for this story?

not to mention some of the wording looks like its been ripped straight out

of someone else's email

It's a good news , more banning means bigger underground crypto market
btw:my russia friends treat putin gov like sht Embarrassed

I love these political decisions that are anti-freedom. They gauge where we are and how much we need to resist. Someday when big corporations want special treatment and allowances for Bitcoin, there will be blowback.

Wow, another one that is going to keep saying one thing and changing it back and then banning it again. Really wish they would make their minds up because it makes them look really silly when they keep making one decision and then making another.

And... This is important why?

Russia is acting like China,

"We ban! ... Wait, no we don't... yes we do! BAAAAN! Wait... Should we...?"

I wish they'd make up their minds. I haven't heard about China for a while now...
