Ebay is different. You can get your money back from them if the purchase is not as is or described.

Additionally, while not made explicit in your post, you may wish to post a thread in Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Trading Discussion > Scam Accusations.  However, a pre-existing scam-accusation against sam4aplex made 2 days ago exists within a generic thread.

Please note that the scam thread that aplexfarm.com was added to is run by some mad man lol . . Apparently according to him  I run 30 scam websites and have made millions of $$$.I am not a scammer , not worth millions $$ and I have only ever bought 5 domains in my whole life. Please read the scam thread to understand how crazy he is . . . and then you can try understand what I have to deal with as a small business owner.

you cant perm ban ip's due to people using tor etc
You can't perma-ban them, but if Bitcointalk begins to IP ban, then users will have to begin paying fees to sign up, which might start fending off some of the scammers.

I like what others have suggested. Sites like Anandtech and [H] require people to have x number of posts before posting a classified. Overclock.net is a bit tougher on newbies and classifieds, and require 35 "rep" before users can post a classified. Rep is earned from posting useful posts, sort of like upvotes on Reddit, but they seem rarer to get.

Maybe a reputation system similar to OCN, and requiring a reputation point count >= 15 would cut down on these scams. I know it would take a lot of effort to implement something like this, and some people wouldn't like it, but it might be a decent solution.

Now he's bumping his own thread to the top every few minutes and deleting the previous post.  Do we not have a mod in this forum at all?

Yeah, I agree. At least 50-75 as that will deter the lazy scammers at least. Setting up a post count limit will not get rid of all of them.

Pretty sure both Anandtech and Hardforum require you to have a few posts(like >20 or something) before you can post a thread in the trading section.  Might be a step in the right direction?

minimum of 100 will be best

I'm newbie. And I do not mind the rules. Why destroy your forum people who are here for a few days.
It should be slightly adjusted rules.

I too find it disturbing that openly running scams here and locking self moderated threads is being allowed. I get that the forum doesn't want the liability of having to protect users, but turning a blind eye after a scam has been confirmed doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth. Not moderating possible scams is one thing, while allowing confirmed scams to operate is quite another.

I agree 100% on this...we should restrict newbie accounts and remove self moderation.

Funny, you didn't delete the posts from the "newbies"(aka your shill accounts) saying that they got their items, just the ones that made you look bad.
