Give a very wealthy human being a monetary acknowledgment for his contributions to finan...I mean science and then what?

Are we going to give George Soros props for BitGold too? This is a strange world.

Loose lips sink sigs!
It's notable, but he/she/they have no chance of winning because it is still new. Whether or not Bitcoin has actually changed anything has yet to be seen.

It's not bitcoin it's the blockchain tech he/she/they invented that would be the reason for their victory.

Yeah, the blockchain tech may be what ends up being the greatest benefit to the greatest number of people. I think  we're way too soon though. The impacts haven't been realized by many at all. If he were to get the nomination  now  it would be similar to the Nobel Peace prize going to Barack Obama (without him actually having  spent  a  lifetime fighting for peace, obviously he hasn't - he's gone to war!)

I don't think the blockchain or bitcoin will fail, but we need more evidence that it had a significant impact on many. We're just not there yet.

Blockchain technology is the what the bitcoin is based on. Blockchain is to be used in many parts of our lives. When banks use that, it will cut their cost and save lots of money for them.

I know he deserves it! But, if we don't know who he is, and giving that nobody knows his real identity, who will receive the prize for him?

Perhaps the prize will make him come to light. Who knows.

He is madly rich. If he wanted to be famous celebrity he would show himself alredy. It is either he don't want to be in a public eye and has reasons not to disclose his identity.
Or (I hope not) he is already dead like Hal Finney etc. The point is: a petty award is not gonna lure Satoshi out of his seclusion.

He is supposed to own 1 million bitcoins. If the price of bitcoin goes to $10,000 each, he will be worth $10 billion. Still not as high as Bill Gates (79 billion) and Warren Buffet (66B).

All are suppositions who knows if satoshi nakamoto still alive? may he didn't turn up cos he couldn't..

I think people need to move on and forget the creator of the protocol and start to work towards development.

Nobel price who cares. long time ago they stop to reward  good scientist.

forget the creator? it same as you forgetting your mother lol.

I stand with Ukraine.
Satoshi Nakamoto for the 2016 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.?
What do you think about this? Are you agree with? Why?
Many people agree that the invention of Satoshi Nakamoto has changed the financial world, and due to the las mentioned
He would be a totally worthy person to gain it.

As far as I understand, he was only suggested for the nomination (how many others were also suggested? idk). And truth to be told, it is not officially a Nobel Prize actually. IMO he deserves much more than that.

You can read more here:

http://coinyoo.com/2015/11/09/bitcoin-inventor-satoshi-nakamoto-nominated-for-nobel-prize-in-economics/

Quote
The candidate of Satoshi Nakamoto has been offered by Bhagwan Chowdhry, UCLA Professor of Finance. The Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences that Nakamoto can get is not officially a Nobel Prize. It was established by Sweden’s central bank, Sveriges Riksbank, in memory of Nobel Prize founder Alfred Nobel. It is awarded annually in December at Nobel Prize Award Ceremony.

I think it's fake offer to lure out the real Nakamoto to be persecuted...

Maybe this is the case yes.But I wouldn't worry too much.Satoshi will never give up his anonymity. He knows very well about that risk. And even if it would happen nothing would change as he does not own the system. The genie is out of the bottle.

I don't know how they could hand out a nobel prize to an unknown person.
+1 because bitcoin is anonymous so the creator of bitcoin.
explicitly we won't ever know who he exactly is.

Bitcoin is not anonymous, it's pseudo anonymous at best. We need a lot of work to do before we can call it proper p2p cash. Let's hope that Bitcoin is way more anonymous by default before it goes mainstream.

Hi!

The problem for propose or give the Nobel Prize to the creator of Bitcoin, first we need to know who is Satoshi Nakamoto.

Bitcoin still in a early stage of his development,  Its easy to say i think satoshi deserve the price, but will be difficult to prove why he deserve it

Satoshi Nakamoto can be a organization and in this case the rules of the price are aren't valid for them.

I know aswell Nobel Prize are now more political stuff rather than discoveries.

I will not agree to give to Satoshi, also i will not give to 60% of the people are nominated
the fact.

The Nobel Memorial Prize for an unknown person? Even we don't know whether satoshi is his real name or not.

And what if some one who's elite (but not the actual bitcoin creator) comes forward and saying that " I'm the satoshi nakamoto, and this prize should belongs to me"?

May be the prize should be in a museum in the name of "unknown".

I don't know how they could hand out a nobel prize to an unknown person.

indeed. It's an obvious trap to induce him to de-anonymize himself.
obvious trap is obvious.
