Would the US authorities put him in prison?
Or would he win the Nobel Prize in Economics?
Or both options?  Grin

Nothing like that will happen, the reason is because Satoshi's identity will not be revealed.

More likely Satoshi will be given a Nobel Prize in Economics.  He will be so popular that he might be more popular than any celebrities.  While, I do not think that there is a reason for the US authorities to put him in prison, if ever he might get assassinated even before the public knows who Satoshi is.  Since his creation is a threat to centralized financial authority.

Why should the US put Satoshi in prison? He never did anything illegal, he just created something, that's it. If what Satoshi created was somehow illegal probably many countries would have already banned it several years ago but nothing happened except in some countries with particular governments like China or some middle eastern countries. I just don't understand why people keep thinking that bitcoin is somehow illegal or wrong.

The US government created Tor, one of the most important privacy tools, because they wanted to use it by themselves. So indeed, why would they put Satoshi in prison? Did they ever put any creator of a privacy tool into prison? And yet the idea that they would do so is so common in Bitcoin community, because most Bitcoiners subscribe to the "government bad" libertarian mindset.

I don't see why would Satoshi be nominated for a Nobel prize in economics. Bitcoin didn't change the world. And Bitcoin is just a payment network, the creators of Visa, which is used by billions of people, didn't get one either.

Would the US authorities put him in prison?
On what grounds would he/they be arrested ? Seeing that no founders of other alternative coins have been arrested for same reason then Satoshi has nothing on him/them to be put in jail.  But why the US?

I don't think Satoshi would be bothered about winning a Nobel Prize.
Sotoshi's anonymity is fine that way, for what is worth, bitcoin is doing great and I think satoshi's anonymity could just be part of the reason why the currency BTC is standing tall.

Why would he be in prison?

Vitalik outed himself as the co-founder and chief creator of Ethereum, and we literally depended our livelihoods under the technology that he built. No one goes out there hating on Vitalik, let alone threatening him with incarceration. If Satoshi outs himself (and I doubt it would even be possible since lmao everyone who ever said they are Satoshi got clowned by the whole forum and the internet), I think he won't get anything but claps and praises from the people whose lives were changed thanks to bitcoin. No Nobel nor Pulitzer prize, no incarceration or arrests happening. Just us being very happy that there's a face now behind the moniker, which we can thank for and support.

I wonder why satoshi will be taken to jail? that if we look carefully, aiy has helped to increase the percentage of the economy of each country that has recognized Bitcoin, besides it has provided oppprtunidad to the unemployed and employed community.

And in addition to that, he has helped many people to develop and become rich in the conduct of Bitcoin business in this industry. That's why Satoshi is recognized as a reputable and respectable founder celebrity in the Bitcoin world.

We already have too many Faketoshis and it will be difficult for anyone now to prove that he is real satoshi. There are few ways one can prove he is actual satoshi, like moving bitcoin from sleeping wallets of Satoshi.

One thing is very clear that government and other agencies won't spare him and will definitely come after him. Its better for satoshi not to disclose his real ID at the moment.

He would owe back taxes on the coins he mined

Are you sure about that? As per the IRS, holding cryptocurrency in a wallet or transferring cryptocurrency between your own wallets is considered a non-taxable event. Satoshi would need to sell some of his bitcoin before being required to pay taxes. Moreover, owing taxes does not automatically result in going to jail.

No, the US authorities wont put him in prison because it's made for the criminals only and Satoshi isn't a criminal but a hero who has given us the gift of Bitcoin. Many people have claimed to be Satoshi and none of them is in prison and even if real Satoshi claims to be Satoshi then still people will reject that claim. A genius like Satoshi knows very well that if he reveals his true identity then his 1 Million Bitcoin would be in trouble, and he would never do anything that could cause him financial harm.

The Satoshi deserves a Nobel Price in economics for the asset he has given to the world. He's the one who opened our eyes in this technological age. It's because of Satoshi we understood that we can have a currency which isn't controlled by governments. He's the mastermind who has shown us the power of decentralization in the form of Bitcoin and such a person deserves a Nobel Price for his innovation. I believe that Satoshi is also one of the most influential people of this century and they best thing about him is that nobody has seen or listened to the voice of this amazing guy.

have authority putted in prison other coin creator like vitalik Ethereum founder, Charles Hoskinson Cardano owner yet? if these founders are not jailed then i believe that Satoshi would also be saved from jail. Infact he didn't did any wrong and just provide a new technology , a new vision to the world which was much required in this modern era.

Just like AI which has been appreciated and supported by many firms and countries i believe that Satoshi also deserve noble prize for founding Blockchain and btc idea.

It's not that easy because no one recognizes his face or anything, and there have been many people or anyone claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto the creator of Bitcoin, but that's just a claim.
And if one day Satoshi Nakamoto does appear, I don't think most people will believe it, and assume he or they are not the real Satoshi Nakamoto because there is no accurate evidence.
Satoshi Nakamoto will remain a mystery forever, and if US authorities had the ability to pull it off, they would have done it a long time ago. Cheesy

From my own thinking if something like this happens well I won't argue if bitcoin will not be at risk because because of government trying to control bitcoin, but his anonymity makes bitcoin indestructible and uncontrollable by anyone. This is another good reason why bitcoin soaring highly today because government is not in control and no authority would ever bring down bitcoin to their own man power or will. So if satoshi is being revealed there will be a great threat to bitcoin progression.

Why they will? As if not many business benefits of his creation, also just like other said altcoin creators are still there and wasn't imprisoned. Even the creator of monero which is a privacy coin that many uses for alleged crimes is still there and was employed on some company.

Satoshi getting a nobel prize is a huge possibility but it dont think will matter to him/her anymore.

Most likely neither of those two options would happen.

I do hope that Satoshi identity never gets revealaed as I think its one of the (many) advantages Bitcoin has over  other cryptocurrencies and I honestly don't understand why bitcoiners like to deal with that subject. I mean, majority of bitcoiners thought about it at one point (most likely when they just got into it) but other than that, I see no point.

Am very sure Satoshi would win a Nobel price for the remarkable success of the BTC cryptocurrency. Since his idea enforced the creation of other decentralized coins, it would cause a serious cause for concern if any government were to arrest him for having such a brilliant idea and seeing it to implementation and adoption.

I hardly doubt this would happen because the name Satoshi is more of an acronym rather a real identity of an individual.

What reason could the government put him in jail? If they can do it with Satoshi, why don't they put Vitalik Buterin or CZ in jail?

Because Vitalik and CZ is not from US. The only reason why CZ is having trouble with US Sec is because he accepts US customer to his exchange. US Sec jurisdiction is not globally and they can't sue anyone that is not their citizen or doesn't operate under their jurisdiction.

This precisely proves that Satoshi is a US citizen. In any other case, he would most likely have revealed his identity.
If that's the case, Satoshi will certainly change nationality that has nothing to do with the US country Grin

This would make him unable to be prosecuted by the US government.

But I didn't think Satoshi would reveal his identity. What did he do it for? Money, popularity or seeking the thrill that he is the real Satoshi?

Satoshi will remain anonymous, and we only know who he really is once he tells the world that he is the real Satoshi.
