Who is to say this guy didn't post the 'I am not Dorian Nakamoto'? Who can legitimately say who was behind the screen and login for that name? Simple question, but what evidence do you have that he ISN'T the owner of that name online and just typed that up?

Enlighten us.

Satoshi Nakamoto is a common name in Japan. During the time I spent there I met Satoshis and Nakamotos.

And how is his life ruined? They said hes the possible creator of bitcoin. It's not like hes been added to the sex offender list. All this stuff is silly and out of hand.

Why are we acting like there are not richer people out there criminals are probably more interested in.  It's way easier to steal gold or paper.. only a tool would attempt to physically steal a wallet.  OH I GOT THE FILE YA.. now all I gotta do is solve this 35 character password...  Furthermore he lives in america.. the cops would be there asap.  I don't think he is in as much danger as people think he is.

If you're gonna make up an online handle (screenname) that is going to become associated (or synonymous) with something as big as Bitcoin
at least be a little fucking creative and not use the name of a real guy who just happens to fit your profile and characteristics...
Do you really think satoshi thought bitcoin was gonna get as big as it is now? no, so stop bashing him for fucking stupid reasons

The Newsweek article described several in the USA. You can find like 6 people on LinkedIn. You know how to use a search engine.

And to a great extent Satoshi predated the popularity of linkedin.
He's probably not even one of the 6 people that show up in a search.

Don't blame Satoshi for the news reporter's irresponsibility in publishing hastily, and without adequate verification.

There are numerous people named Satoshi Nakamoto.

If you're so smart, name at least one..

LMAO was that a deliberate joke or are you just incredibly dimwitted?

Isn't it obvious or are you dimwitted yourself?  Grin

There are numerous people named Satoshi Nakamoto.  He didn't ruin anyone's life.  You can thank the reporter Leah Goodman for that.

Satoshi must immediately sign a message from the genisis block proving he is not this Dorian guy.

Yeah because you can sign a message to prove you aren't someone.

Listen you might be sarcastic but unfortunately I've seen dumber things on this forum, so.

It would, however, establish that the P2P foundation message was actually by him, and not somebody who hacked his account.
