Oh no, flash?!?!

My thoughts exactly.

Since you now have an HTML5 client, I would suggest forking that.  Something more 'desktop-y', but still HTML5.  Take a look at bitzino.com to see what can be done with HTML5 to make an attractive, functional gaming interface.

Hey there! Some constructive criticism for you:

1) I love the site and the way it looks. It's fluid and it just "feels" great. The tournaments page is awesome!

2) The HTML client is perfect, if you're on a portable device. It looks and feels like you'd expect on an iPhone and such. But when you move to a real PC/laptop/etc., it just doesn't feel right. Essentially it's giving that iPhoney vibe on the PC that really isn't too good. If it'd be possible to make a client, or at least adapt the current one to separate between PC users and those on portable devices, I think that would be perfect.

I love the site and I look forward to seeing what you guys have in store for the future!

We always had the plan for having 2 different clients for mobile play and for live play on the website, but it was most convinient to launch the html5 client first. We will start working on our flash based client now, which will be more suited for pc and notebook play. We will never stop moving forward.

Thanks for your input!

Oh no, flash?!?!

Can't you make a fully html5 website for pc play? Bitzino did and it's really nice. Flash is a drag and is on its way out. If you build flash you're probably going to have to redo it again in the future.

Just created an account on the html5 client. Couldn't figure out where to send in some btc or what the exchange rate was.

Also, I changed my avatar but when I sat at a play money table it showed my avatar as blank.

Can you try Firefox (latest) and report back please? It could be an isolated issue for your monitor, or the chromium version you are using.

It's fine in firefox 20.0.  About>Firefox doesn't report the useragent string any more it seems, just "20.0".

The version of chromium where it doesn't work right is "Version 25.0.1364.160 Ubuntu 12.10".

I tried playing in the HTML5 version, but it disconnected twice within about 5 minutes, so I switched back to the Windows client.

I was trying to chat at the time.  I don't know if that's what caused the disconnections, or if that's unrelated.

I tried watching the game in firefox's HTML5 interface, but it doesn't really work.  I don't know if it's because firefox's javascript engine is slower or what, but one CPU core runs pretty much flat out, and I don't get to see any community cards on the table.  Also, bottom line of text on the table is half off the screen.  Resizing the window often doesn't result in a redraw; presumably the code is lagging too much.  Here are a couple of screenshots at different window sizes in firefox with the text off the bottom of the screen.  Notice in one it has forgotten to (or not got around to) draw the player stack sizes yet:

I did eventually get to see a card on the table, but it was face down.  I expect it was meant to be an animation of a player folding their cards, but it just sat still in the middle of the table for over a minute while I screenshotted it:

In Chromium, on the other hand, the animations all work fine, and I get to see the cards as I hear them.  (In firefox I hear cards being dealt onto the table, but don't see them).  The CPU is still high while viewing a table.  It drops right down in both firefox and chromium as soon as I go back to the lobby screen.  The text at the bottom of the table isn't cut off in chromium, at any size, and as I resize the window, the table scales nicely to fit (until I make it too narrow, at which point it tells me to 'rotate my device' (whatever that is meant to mean)):

Thank you for your detailed report.

We take bugs very seriously, and will try to address these as soon as possible.

These bugs are happening in Linux it seems, as on my windows and mac the HTML5 client has been working flawless.

Nevertheless we will pinpoint the issue and fix it.

But woahh, it's so big haha. I guess it's good for people who use their phone though

Whether I make the browser window big or small, the font size is automatically adjusted so it's just too big to fit in the tabs:

I don't have that issue http://screencast.com/t/GiEipuGynHmz

HTML5 IS HERE!!!

I can't use it because I don't remember my password.

It's saved in the Windows client, but that won't let me copy/paste it.

There's no password reset link on the HTML5, and the one in the Windows client takes me to a page that asks me for my email address, and when I type it and click the 'restore' button, it just reloads the same page, never sending me an email.

If I put in the wrong email, it tells me "A player with such email does not exist in the system", so I guess it's working with the right email.  But the email doesn't arrive.  The web page doesn't say it has sent it either, just takes me back to the form that asks for my email address.

Oh, never mind, I remember it.  Smiley

But you should offer some way of resetting the password from both places.
there seems to be an issue with the restore password. We'll start fixing that immediately

edit: nvm i think it must be 500 Wink

Ignore that. The minimum withdrawal is actually 0.05 BTC (s500)

That 5000 chip minimum seems to be hard-coded into the client. We will get that removed asap.

EDIT: THIS HAS BEEN FIXED.

We have posted our entire tournament schedule for today, we are still internally deliberating on the full weekly tournament structure, and would like your input in what games and tournament structures you all would like to see hosted at Satoshi Poker. We are constantly striving to improve our user experience, and because of this your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The deposit/withdraw functionality is still being added on the HTML5 client. For now you can deposit with the main client (windows desktop), or wait for a freeroll. We are working on this and will have an update for this function ASAP.

Thanks for all your patience.

Looks pretty good on my 1080P screen (maximized). Try making the window smaller (it seems to be responsive Smiley ).
