Update, Public testing has been going great - thanks to all our players and also the amazing bitcoind.

We have a new website and interface coming up to replace the coders demonstration page, dont worry for anyone that prefers the simplistic html only pages they will be preserved for prosperity under http://satoshiroulette.com/old

The new website is looking great we have some nice new features added to make gaming even easier for our players as well.
I wont spoil the webmonkeys surprise but I will say I feel he has earned his btc.

our bitcoind instance got stuck on a block and did not see any new tx's fixed now and confirmed yours has been processed.

Sorry for the trouble, we shall be implementing a block height check to alert us when this occurs.

Glad to help you debug your site Smiley

How many confirmations are needed? I thought it would be like SatoshiDice, but I got no return for http://blockchain.info/tx-index/13817725/26af262091323a6047dbde0741a95132b92960863b28ac1449b57f1f0c8fcb89 yet.

max bet and min bet have been increased.

Our 1st secret was:

Code:
339458893vr4rfgbrgbrtb4t545bvHBBG(&BybyybvVGHfy453457u81hk KL n VGCfdcyerCCfv,./,.;

We did have single rule change to correct fairness for the player midway so only later calculations will be correct unless you use the older formula sorry, but this is a public test Wink

That does seem to be a good table design, the current spread while not perfect is "good enough" tm when a secret is included.
Roulette tables are often re-weighted in casinos for example.

The main table will stay up as is, but we shall soon be offering alternate table layouts for gamblers.
The public beta test is going extremely well thanks to all our gamers and also helpful forum members like yourself and fireduck of satoshidice.

If time permits tomorrow I will be creating a twitter feed which will also be embedded on the site. The twitter feed will announce wins/ losses etc.

Some people have questioned our choice of using static html, we considered many options but in the end decided the safest model had complete separation between public web space and the SQL server + bitcoind. The second benefit is speed, the website loads instantaneously even on the slowest connection and being plain html enables proxies to cache the site with ease.

From the SatoshiDice thread:

I hope we are not derailing satoshidice's thread here Tongue
for a table containing 65 numbers I would use FF not FFFF Wink

I will pm dooglus and discuss further.
Dooglus you are welcome to share anything technical I discuss with you in PM - I just dont want to spam the SD thread to much Wink

If you use FF instead of FFFF, you will get 256 different numbers, from 0 to 255.  There's no fair way of mapping those to 65 different numbers.  256/65 = 3.938 so most numbers would come up 4-in-256 times, and some would come up 3-in-256 times.

If you have 64 numbers then it's much easier - every number comes up 4-in-256 times, since 256/64 = 4.

It took me a while to find the FAQ.  The big yellow underlined link-looking "PLEASE SEE THE FAQ" isn't actually a link.  The "FAQ" link is hidden inside the roulette table itself.

You're missing the 'bet 2', 'bet 3', 'bet 4', 'bet 6' bets.  Usually it's possible to bet on groups of numbers like that.

In the FAQ:

Q> Are you on any bitcoin forums ?

A> No, I occasionally lurk on #bitcoin but I shall be signing up shortly to announce the public test.

The question isn't in bold like all the other questions, and the answer is incorrect.  Smiley

Hi Dooglus Smiley

I have not done the grouping bets yet but they are being considered.
I pulled 1 section of the FAQ (determining senders address) as we are now 1000 tx's into the public test without fault and the previous private test had the  same number without issue.

I have also adjusted the number selection code to balance the distribution of even/odd red/back etc.
Some Individual numbers seem to have a 0.02% edge over others if you do the stats currently, I will update the FAQ shortly with the new rule shortly.

if gamblers are interested (and Im sure they are) I will throw up my stats on the number distribution.
From my checks it seems with the current house edge and using a private secret the slight edge of 0.02% is negligible.

thanks to whoever is currently running a martingale bot against my site Smiley Im actually flattered it happened this quickly.

The user may have noticed I fixed the even payouts. I had a typo in my code where even was paying out on odd numbers not even, not that the botter seemed to mind.

yup, they all are correct, the site looks great, i look forward to losing alot of money on here and having fun doing it Cheesy my address is 1A5QFrDmpYPU8ndfG2xFQxd4Q1W6sJTLew , but while i was testing i got lucky and won .2 btc from you, so nothing is necessary. if you could display a hash of the roll before the roll then i think you will get alot more people because they won't have to trust you, they will just have to trust math. i wish you luck on this site and will be a regular on it

tip sent, thanks again, Glad you like the site.

Currently I use a static secret plus the bets txid in sha512 to generate the result.
The users will be able to verify the result once the secret is released (a bit clumsy atm I know).

Id like to get some javascript / java that does the maths for the user created but java is not my forte currently.

Thinking ahead Im looking at using twitter to announce new secrets, max bet adjustments and large winners.
The code already supports a twitter feed but I use that for remote monitoring, to the average user it will look like garbage.
