Al-Nassr FC did not need captain Cristiano Ronaldo to beat Ohod. The Portuguese striker was rested and didn't travel for the game. Goals from Sadio Mané,  Seko Fofana, Anderson Talisca, Ayman Ahmed, and Sami Al-Naji devastated Ohod.  The first half ended in a one-all draw and I thought the game might end with a slim win by any side. But Al-Naasr came up with a good plan of attack that made them create more chances and utilize them. Al-Hilal dominated the game and had a massive ball possession but the goal didn't come as expected. But the breakthrough came through Ruben Neves in the 64th minute. Al-Hilal goal was allowed by the video referee in the 73rd minute, but the single goal was enough to give Al-Hilal. Al Jabalain defended very well and they proved that they could stand a quality team like Al-Hilal.
It's a good thing Ronaldo was rested so he'll be fit to play in their league match, Ronaldo is not very young anymore and could loss form due to fatigue so sidelining him for the match a way of keeping him fit and it's also proved that Al-Nassr could win a match without Ronaldo, cause alot of people feel the team is nothing without him,Mane is another very good player people are forgetting at Al-Nassr, since his arrival to the team, he's been very impressive and has helped the team  either scoring goals or assisting Ronaldo.

@QueenVera resting Ronaldo is a tried and tested strategy and even Zidane did that while managing him at Real Madrid and if I’m correct he even performed better once he was back hence I expect him to score more goals when he’s back. Also I strongly believe that Al-Naasr is now no longer solely dependent on Ronaldo because they have got quality player’s who can effectively fill in for Ronaldo like we saw in this match.

Al-Hilal is another team I love in the Saudi pro league and if not for the love of Ronaldo I would love them to win their league, because they're very impressive and plays good football, i feel they're like the Barcelona of the Saudi league. However Al Jabalain suprisenly made the game tough for them but they showed their class as a big team and secured the points.

Last night, both Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal both won the Kings Cup competition over their opponents. Al-Nassr won by a landslide and Al-Hilal could only win narrowly in that match, but at least both teams have good capital to play the Saudi League match this week. Talking about Al-Nassr this week they will face Al-Tai and of course this will be another easy match for Ronaldo and his friends to aim for victory again.

To be honest, I haven't heard any news regarding this recently. But I heard similar rumors several months ago when Al-Nassr fired their coach at that time, Rudi Garcia. for example in this news
(Sourch: https://www.bola.com/dunia/read/5263908/jose-mourinho-masuk-daftar-bidikan-al-nassr-pilihan-cristiano-ronaldo)

But then the rumors were debunked after it turned out that Al-Nassr chose Luis Castro, who eventually became the choice of coach for Al-Nassr. And Luis Castro is also the current coach of Al-Nassr. And it is rumored that Luis Castro was chosen because of a recommendation from Cristiano Ronaldo.
(Sourch: https://sport.detik.com/sepakbola/bola-dunia/d-6799442/al-nassr-segera-rekrut-pelatih-yang-direkomendasikan-ronaldo)

So I doubt the rumors are true. Because the current Al-Nassr coach is very good.
Actually, the rumors about Jose Mourinho being approached by Arab clubs are rumors that are true. But the rumors I heard were not rumors about Arab clubs being interested in bringing in Jose Mourinho next season. But I read news about two Arab League clubs who have submitted proposals to Jose Mourinho this season. But Jose Mourinho has rejected both offers.

And the two clubs are not Al-Nassr but Al-hilal and Al-Ahli. More precisely, this matter was published on Fabrizio Romano's Twitter on August 7 2023. The content of the twitter was about Jose Mourinho's statement which admitted that he had received two offers from two Arab clubs, namely Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli. But he refused because he was comfortable at AS Roma and he would remain at AS Roma.

There are even other rumors that Jose Mourinho might extend his contract at AS Roma after his contract expires in 2024. But everything can change. It could be that this season Jose Mourinho still wants to stay at AS Roma. But we don't know next season. Because the offer from the Arab club is very high. So I will understand if he finally accepts an offer next season.

Sourch: Sports.sindonews.com
We will never know what steps Arab clubs will take next season. Because even in the transfer market this season we also saw a lot of surprises from Arab parties who succeeded in bringing in more European players. So it is not surprising that next season Arab clubs will also succeed in bringing in more of today's top European coaches.

Currently Al-Ettifaq is one of the clubs that has succeeded in bringing in a very good coach who is also a legend at Liverpool. he is Steven Gerrard. And maybe other Arab clubs will be inspired by the steps taken by Al-Ettifaq who succeeded in bringing in a quality coach who is also a legend in European football, especially Liverpool.

The heat of the Saudi Pro League is just the unbelievable salary of the players on the other side of the career slope. It doesn't attract viewers at all. The Premier League is an empire that has existed for a long time. They have built a good name and quality. Here, we not only see stars competing to shine but also see the strategies of good coaches. I feel like a storybook.
Because the growth of Saudi Professional League is not natural and organic but comes from investment from Saudi Arabian government through PIF, it is an unsustainable growth. If their government lose interest in the league and stop money flow to PIF, top four clubs of the league will no longer be able to pay salary for those star players from Europe as well as will not be able to buy more new star players.

Those clubs and the league will return to where they were before the heating spending wave, and likely end like Chinese Superb League years ago. Hopefully this growth will be continue to at least World Cup 2030 as it is a plan of Saudi Arabian government to host that World Cup in Asia.

However, Al-Hilal, on the contrary, will face a fairly strong opponent, namely Al-Shabab and as we know, Al-Shabab is a regular team in the top 4 of the Saudi league, so it is possible that Al-Hilal will have quite a difficult time winning this match. Moreover, last summer Al-Shahab also got a new European player and he was Yannick Carassco, who is a former Atletico player. Of course it will be quite difficult to determine who will win this match, but the most appropriate bet is BTTS with odds @1.75.

I don't think the English Premier League will be surpassed by anyone, it is not only the most popular but also the strongest, no other league has so many strong teams. As far as popularity goes, I think the SPL has outdone itself, it will find it harder and harder to gain popularity. The most important thing is that it doesn't lose popularity completely, so that it's not just a one-off incident lasting two years
It's funny when comparing Saudi Pro League to European competition, it's weigh out of the picture. For instance, which football lover will overlooked a clash between North London derby game, or better Manchester City vs Liverpool clash and settle for some Al Nassr and Al Hilal game, ofcourse its not appropriate, and in the first place, these SPL clubs signed European players inother for their league to become popular in the world of football. The English Premier League is an elite one and popular because of the big names and competitive clubs that anticipates in the competitive race.

I feel like a storybook. Creating one surprise after another, We watched spectacular performances and goals. We are witnessing how an ordinary team destroyed a group of all-stars thanks to their coach's tactics.
The Saudi Pro League still needs to do more to put itself on the table with the Premier League.

There are several rumors that have become a topic of discussion namely the desire of Al Nassr management to make Mourinho one of the coaches on the target list for next season and Mourinho was also offered a fantastic salary there.
Maybe if Mourinho is really interested wants to go to Saudi and join the Al Nassr squad then next season Ronaldo and his friends can get even better performance in every Saudi League.
But there is no clear answer regarding these rumors circulating and Mourinho himself still hopes and is quite confident that he can provide great achievements for AS Roma.

Moreover there are quite a lot of European coaches who have gone to become coaches for Saudi teams and there they can have a source of large salaries that would not be possible when coaching European teams.

I don't know, I'm not sure Mourinho is aiming for a salary, what I know is that he is always aiming for titles in every club and league, I don't think he's interested in leaving the European League yet at least for the next 2 seasons because he still has a good record. One thing that might make him want to move to the Saudi League is if he has competition as a coach and currently there is no coach in this league who is at Morinho's level. We know there is Steven Gerrard here but he is still under Moronho.
So that what I mean is that Mourinho is still very enthusiastic and confident about being able to win a title with AS Roma so there will be a few obstacles if Al Nassr wants to bring Mourinho as coach there.
But when his contract with Roma expires there is a big possibility that Mourinho will also go to Saudi and become a coach the Saudi team for the end of his retirement is also a good enough choice for Mourinho to take.

If that becomes a reality, then of course it will be great because after all, it seems that AS Roma also still has not given Mourinho a new contract. Maybe, because of this factor it could also be that Mourinho will later accept an offer to become the coach of AL Nassr, so obviously Al Nassr will be even better if he manages to bring Mourinho. Also in addition, I also get rumors that Ronaldo is persuading de Gea to be able to play at Al Nassr. Well, these rumors about Al Nassr are becoming very big of course, especially if these rumors actually come true.
Of course Al Nassr can have better coaching and Mourinho is also one of the best coaches from Portugal who has quite a lot of championships in his coaching history.
And what more Mourinho has quite a lot of experience as a great coach and can easily make a football team develop faster.

I have heard rumors about Ronaldo and De Gea a few days ago but I don't know whether De Gea will be interested or not and also whether Al Nassr management really wants De Gea to be the goalkeeper there.

The only factor that will take Mourinho away is money. I don't think they will go beyond this to the Saudi Arabian league because the tournaments they participate in are far away from the tournaments in Europe. Roma is a team that recently won the conference league cup and played in the UEL final. If luck had been on their side, they would have won. For him to leave these successes and go to the Saudi Arabian league and coach a team, he needs to receive an astronomical fee.

Everything depends on the players. English Premier League is wildly popular across the world, because the best players used to participate in it. I know that the Saudi Professional League is a new entrant (at least in terms of global popularity), but already they have become one of the most popular football leagues around the globe. And star players continue to flock to Saudi, as other leagues can't compete with them in terms of monetary power. EPL will remain as one of the top leagues, but don't think that the SPL will not be able to dislodge it from the no.1 position.

Y'all should know by now that Neymar is a kind of player that loves playing entertaining football,he always love to dribble and i feel that's why he keeps getting injured, as for him being arrogante on the pitch, if you do follow him on social media or observed him at his previous clubs you'll know it's his lifestyle and he loves to bring it the pitch as well especially when playing against inferior clubs, Neymar is a very big player, I think bigger and more popular than his coach and the entire teammates if im not mistaken, but i think it's the boards duty to handle the situation amicably, he should no that no player is bigger than a club and an insult to the coach is like insulting the club.

They need to call him to order before his arrogant lifestyle cause a disruption in the dressing room and affect their good performance,  they're already on the right track and have started brilliantly to get to the top so they need to be focused and avoid any distractions that would make the lose their position currently.
This is not the point, his "entertaining football" is nowhere to be found, that's the issue. I still believe that they made a mistake getting him as a player, but it was a financial decision that made the team watched more, just like how I do not think that Ronaldo worths THIS much money, still a good player but 200+ million euro a year? Of course not, well to be fair no player on the world worths that if you ask me.

However, this league is getting players to increase viewership and Neymars entertainment football could be a key to that if he does it, unfortunately he hasn't shown anything just yet, he is just getting started and he is doing worse than what I expected he would do. Lets see a few more games before I start judging though.

Come on guys, you can understand more of what I said before. I said that they throw money "when" there is no impact for their league, and here what they do has a positive impact and that is from various things one of which is popularity.
It's part of the process, and I would consider it a very natural thing when money is the first step to doing something bigger. Moreover, they have the ability, yes we know they are rich entrepreneurs who are already known to many people.

I don't see anything wrong with them popularising their championship with big money. Any PR campaign requires a huge amount of money, and they only had to spend really big money once - on Ronaldo. And after his move to the league, other big names started coming in, but for less money, but still huge for the football world, it's like a domino effect, and very positive.
Actually, this is the first step they took, I'm sure they are already preparing for the next step in making a breakthrough as we know it today. Maybe in terms of popularity, it is very difficult to beat the popularity of leagues in Europe such as the Premier League, but what they are doing now is definitely making them more known to many people. And I'm sure even this forum didn't follow the SPL at first, but after this buzz we started to pay attention and started watching or even betting on SPL matches.

The game of yesterday was what the Saudi League needs to become a new football light in the world, it was a very fun to watch game between Al Nasrs and Al Ahli. This was a mayor test for the league, because if they failed and was a boring game, nobody will see the next important game between big teams.
I don't even think people would stop to watch it if the previous game was a boring game. I remind you ronaldo has the biggest fanbase in the world. There would still be thousands of his fans were watching him to play.
The fans are only willing to see their superstars in action.  Cheesy

Yes indeed, basically as long as Ronaldo is still playing then of course the team and the league will remain popular. Moreover, the competition in the Saudi Pro League is also becoming more interesting because yes, with the balance to bring in star players from several existing clubs also makes its popularity increase. Moreover, at this moment that Al Nassr still has to have great efforts to be at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings. So yes, with that factor too, of course. every time Al Nassr plays, Ronaldo will also still try hard to get three points. Therefore, the matches played by Al Nassr will still be interesting and will never be boring, even though they only play against mediocre teams in this league.
I think even though he leaves the league I think the league is the going to be popular because Ronaldo's represence has already created awareness to the league and alot of his fans viewing the league league because of him will still want to continue viewing the their matches because of how interesting it has become, moreover Ronaldo is not the only world class player in the league, there are still others like Neymar, Benzema, kante, and several other veteran players thst joined this season.

I just like how Ronaldo has improved the Al-Nassr league this season and I think there's a very high probability that they might win the league this season, though they'll face a very strong competition from their rivals, Al-ittihad and Al-Hilal who are currently at the top of the league, Al-Nassr are currently at the 5th position, 3points behind the current leaders, which means they still got a good chance of winning the league if they drop points again for a long time.

Ronaldo had an amazing effect on Al Nassr but it's not just about Al Nassr he changed everything after he joined there, Ronaldo was the reason for many top players chose the Saudi League that's why I think even if Ronaldo leaves Al Nassr and Saudi Arabia or get retires there, still, his effect in this team is not coming people can ever forget.

However, Ronaldo grabbed everyone's attention after joining the Saudi League, for which the best European stars joined the Saudi Arabian League. Only the Saudi League has changed for Cristiano Ronaldo and his amazing impact has made it attractive for all players to join the Saudi League. Since Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Al Nassr, the best European stars have moved to those Arab clubs. Al Nassr currently has two world famous stars Ronaldo and Mane, both of them are the best players and seeing them maybe more players will come to Saudi in the future. SPL has gained so much popularity for Ronaldo and people will never forget this Ronaldo, even if he retires, Ronaldo will be famous all over the world.

2 goals made by Ronaldo against Al Ahli. This also made An Nassr narrowly win by 4-3. This condition makes Ronaldo even further away from the temporary SPL Top scorer. Until week 7 Ronaldo has made 9 goals, much more productive than last year. In addition, Ronaldo proved he is still good enough if he has a partner who is able to provide services in the form of good passes. While the newly arrived Mane has also made 6 goals.
Sure, Ronaldo bagged two goals against Al Ahli, which is a pretty solid performance, but let's not forget about assists, right? Talisca scored the same amount in that game and even made an assist. If we're talking about the impact on the game, I reckon Talisca had a bit more of an edge in that match. Now, I'm not throwing shade at Ronaldo, the guy’s a legend. But from where I'm standing, even with nine goals in seven weeks, he’s still got to step up the game if he wants to top the SPL charts this season. It's not just about scoring; it’s about contributing to the team's overall play
Yes, of course Ronaldo is a legend who is always recognized for his talent which always produces goal and I will not compare Ronaldo with Talisca because these two players have made very good contributions to their club which to this day is still very clear that these two players are mainstay within Al Nasr.
I was very impressed with the match between Al Nasr and Al Ahli, it looked very interesting,  competition was tight, competitive, both not want to lose in the match and several times provided surprising attacks, but both clubs failed to get additional goal and almost ended a draw in second half, Al players Ahli was a little more aggressive but unfortunately it was not on target and I still admire Al Ahli, one of the top clubs in the Saudi pro league which has very good cooperation and very strong performance.
