Crypto absolutely needs to ditch the celebration of pathetic vampires like McAfee if it wants the world to believe it is the future of finance, and not simply ancient swindling techniques that have been digitally repackaged for a new generation of suckers.
Only Bitcoin wasn't created to line the pockets of it's creators.
I would pose that perhaps Namecoin and Litecoin also share this distinction; they are pretty benevolent. As is (was) Dogecoin, which Jackson Palmer stated was meant to be a joke, or a "piss take" in his words.
But otherwise I tend to agree with you.
The scrypt parameters were set low enough to allow GPU mining, but they claimed otherwise.
You will find I argued about this on the forum also for Tenebrix (Litecoin predecessor)

So for around a year he was GPU mining Litecoin while everyone else was CPU mining, until the GPU code was released.
