It took BFL about a year to start shipping the jalapenos and so far they have shipped about 50(?) of these units.
This is what's going on:
BFL "handcrafts" about 10 to 12 Jalapeno units a day.
As each unit is completed, they are lovingly installed on the "testnet" for Quality Control, never for profit.
This QC phase can last a few days/weeks/months, you know for your protection.
Each day, 10 to 12 Jalapeno units are shipped to "random" people, such as journalists and reviewers, and opinion influencers.

Since I hear that Paypal just froze their account and refuses to accept payments for them anymore, investigation pending, I say never.

Note that Paypal seems to have just disappeared as a method of payment for chip orders from BFL. BTC or direct bank transfers only.

Guess there's strict no return policy on the chip orders. Paypal still on for devices though.
