Can't say I have seen any here, but I'd say a prostitute selling her body, because she refuses to steal from others, now you could say stealing people's right of free speech, or oppressing others for your own gain, all in all she is more honorable than the most.😉

What's a Bitcointalk mentor?
I would say: Satoshi Nakamoto is Bitcointalk mentor because he made Bitcoin and Bitcointalk happen.
Of course, we could call him mentor.
Big pity, he's not active anymore.

Was expecting something different from the OP but I can't tell who's the OP's mentor, that's my concern.
I think I'd say the OP's mentor is my mentor too.
Is it that you're shy to mention my name here as your mentor?😁 Come on bro, just say it and don't be acting like a child dear... I don't think you have to be when it comes to publishing my username on this Forum.😅

There are lots of useful topics that I found on various boards written by different forum members, they each have their own strengths and have different characters in educating forum members to be better than before. It's hard for me to mention one mentor here because the knowledge I absorbed while on the forum came from different members.

For me, anyone who writes on a topic that can help increase my horizons, I consider him a mentor. When I was little, my parents always taught me to respect everyone who gave me knowledge. He said, whoever gives you knowledge is your teacher or what is being discussed here is called a mentor.

Wow! I am amazed to be seen as such mate but looking at your status here I was baffled as well because you are far higher than I am here to be looked up to as a mentor. I am blushing to be taken for such as I am no fit for you to call me your mentor. It is a privilege though but I am having a second thought if this you did was for fun or you mean what you have said here. Please pardon my ignorance as I am still learning from you all.
You literally do not understand the concept of sarcasm, do you? It looks to me like he's being sarcastic but then again he might mean it (or not). It's good to have mentors who have in one way or the other inspired or are still inspiring us as this can play a vital role in shaping the kinds of persons we want to become. Is it me or am I seeing that you did not write your mentor or the post that first caught your attention? Huh

Sarcastic you may say but I do not see or reason it that way. For the fact that I was mentioned gives me a good chill If you do not know. I am happy my name was mentioned as his or her role model here and as they have mentioned so be it. It doesn't matter he or she is higher than me in rank but I am glad I was mentioned as that gives me the morals to put in more efforts in building my capacity here.

I see I have been getting response for me to write about my own mentor which for sure I would do that soonest for all to see the people I have been looking up to on this platform.

I have so many mentors in this forum which I would not want to mention names, I found these set of persons so interesting and I so much admire their efforts they give to the forum, I'm  so in love with their intelligence which I always crave to be like them. Sometimes I do ask myself if these persons are humans because I see lots of knowledge in them which is even beyond my imagination and I do ask myself where do I start from for me to be like these great forum members . It is so good to have good mentors, they make me to have more appetite to learn more.

Write the username of your mentor.
Paste their profile link
Link to post that first caught your attention to them
.
There are quite a number of my mentors that make it difficult for me to mention them one by one here. Almost all members here are my mentors including you.

I learned about bitcoin, trading, how to speculate, how to express opinions so as not to offend other people and easy to understand and how to put what's on your mind into writing.
I learned all these things from everyone here. For me, every shortcoming that I have, there must be advantages that all members who are active here have that I can take, so that I can cover the shortcomings that I have. Vice versa.

Thank you for the feedback actually got your notification but trying to fixed out things and also thank you for your regards and we have been visiting the hospital so lately for some injection which the Doctor asked us to be coming by 10pm.. during this period her temperature keeps rising but had a discussion with the doctor to readjust the time to 7pm or 8pm as it's too late before getting back to my home, and about 1hr drive getting a taxi, before getting home almost 11:30pm to 12:00am and I may not have that strength to keep posting or reply almost all post.. I might get involved with minor discussion notification but not too long.

But thank God there is changes, we still have about 3 days to finish our injection, on othe hand, I never wanted to share anything related to my baby health here, as I don't want people to start feeling bad or maybe seems as if I am bugging them for my personal issues.

I know you are a mother and should understand the headache and stressed involved taking care, running around to make sure baby's health is sound.

Anyway.. Thank you for your time and feedback I do appreciate.

This is how we list our mentors to put them on our trust lists.
IMO, there's no need to say something to them as long as you list them in your trust list which means you admire them, and you mentoring to them.  No one might put a name in your custom trust list but you hate that person.

Mentees are normal for us to learn and gain knowledge of course to motivate us to make a valuable post, that's the purpose of it nothing else.

This is interesting. It is nice OP  did something of this nature to looking into saying about mentors. It is good sometimes we say something about that very person we learnt some certain things from as it gives them joy knowing that someone is or has learnt something from them. It gives them a sense of fulfillment.

I will say that there are numerous people I have learnt from since my inception into this platform. I think when it comes to do with mentorship it has to do with personal relationship one shares with someone they learn things from and would want to be  like them so in that course they follow their steps. It would be nice OP looks into the topic buy changing from mentorship to role model that would be nice as already advised by members here.

I wouldn't want to appear being sentiment if am to present my mentors because they are so many, i see everyone that make a quality post in which i see something thoughtful in it is deserving to be my mentor, but it also doesn't ended like that, they must show this as a consistency and others must also have seen that quality trait in them, but i will give a clue in saying that all forum most recognized users are my mentors, every quality poster and law abiding users are my mentors as well, having a mentor is not by rank, it's in what you've seen in that individual that creates such decision in you to choose them as mentors.

You will not incur any consequences for adding users to your trust list until you are selected as a member of the DT. LoyceV has a great thread explaining the usefulness of custom trust lists.

You should add users who left accurate feedback and have good Trust lists to your Trust list, and you should exclude users who leave inaccurate feedback.
This means your Trust list should be based on how you value the users' judgement on others, and it should not be based on whether or not you Trust those users (with money) or traded with them.
I encourage anyone to create their own custom Trust list! But before you do, please continue reading so you understand the implications.

If we talk about the fact that other users will add you to their trust list in the same way, then, of course, there will be no consequences, excluding the possibility of using alternative accounts.

To avoid that, OP, you can look at the trust lists. All the people on my trust list are real heroes to me, whose posts I carefully read and listen to their opinions.
The same thing which I did as well, I just tried added few people to my trust list and you are there as well.
I will be adding more though I thought there is a consequences adding people to my trust list which made me just selected few people..

Your reply will be appreciated, as I don't need to create additional topic which others may likely see's it as something not necessary to ask such question but, I know I could get it smoothly from you over here.
Sometimes I do feels like sending pm to some people but that motual closeness isn't there despite we do involved in some discussion doesn't warrant me disturbing the peace of that another.

I read and comprehend your post very well but for the sake of others who can not read without proper use of punctuation will find it difficult to read your post. A whole paragraph without any break in form of coma, and other necessary punctuation in the middle is not ideal. I believe we can not get it perfectly but we should try our best to aid the readers.

To answer your question or let me say to make contribution rather, there are some personalities here who in one way or another have served as a mentor to me with their advice and suggestions. I will not mention their names for reason best known to me.

Jokes aside, I had one member who talked a lot with me in the past and suggested many things. He passed away a few years ago though, so we've never met or gotten in touch through other means. As for the rest of the forum-related activities, I'd say that I learned most of them on my own. Other than names like Hal or satoshi, it is hard to call others my "mentors" if you limit it to forum members.

Good question, but I think that I can't name one or few names which I can call as my mentor. For me it's something similar like naming favourite movie or song. When someone ask me such question, I never answer it because I simply can't pick one. Same about naming mentor.
There is so many people who helped me in all these years and I'm grateful for all them. But picking one name of user who helped me most is too difficult task for me.
I feel the same way here, it's hard to name one or the other. I have to admit that anyone who has posted anything helpful to me is a mentor in general, but I can't seem to find someone in particular as a primary mentor. Of course I also want to thank whoever they are even though I can't mention any of my posts in this thread.

OP, your question is good but it's very difficult to choose one from the many users as mentor.

Interesting topic, OP, because although I have a few names that come to mind as mentors, it's not something I would expect many members would have even considered.

Again, I have several:
Vod: Gave me my first positive feedback which turned my trust green.
Lauda: Supported me getting onto DT2 way back when that actually meant something.
Blazed: One of the DT1 members who added me to his trust list.
hilariousandco: Supported me getting onto DT2 and was the second DT1 member to add me to his trust list.

But if you're asking what my first interaction was with any of them, I couldn't tell you.  But those members above were influential to me, and though I wouldn't have used mentor to describe them necessarily, it's close enough.

For me, "lovesmayfamilis" is one of those I always look up to during my early days on this forum, as she is one of the people who made me who I am today in both criticizing when I'm wrong and encouraging me on the right track with her words of wisdom, and I remain grateful to her and the rest of others who supported me and still supporting me.

E.g

OP, your text needs to be voiced and a video made. It is left to hire a famous actor. A lot of lofty statements and education on the right manners, but you forget that people are different, and everyone always thinks well of themselves. Everything that seems rude to you is perceived as normal behavior by others. This is just a forum, and communication is important here. Nothing more.

Take the forum as it is, and less pathos. As they say, be simpler, and people will be drawn to you.

I have mentors - of course, some of them are in this thread although I don't want to mention them one by one. I can't remember which post inspired me the most so far from them - but at least my mindset has changed since then.

But wait - I have one quote from one of them that has at least gotten me thinking smartly so far.

I believe that, firstly, you need to respect yourself, and not evaluate your every step in terms of money.

This post kind of reminds me of this scene from Kindergarten Cop:

In all honesty, I don't think he ever wanted to be anyone's mentor but one of the posters who I learned a lot from and was vastly entertaining was Phinnaeus Gage / Gleb Gamow, RIP. For a long time both of the accounts were in the top 10 for most posts on the forum (which means he posted a damn lot). He was very abrasive toward those he felt were scammers or dishonest and very much a friend to those who encouraged his scambusting activities or engaged in camaraderie.

He had an interesting tactic: instead of making use of the trust system at all, he would simply yell at scammers and roast them into oblivion, until they left the forum. He was also one of the only people here I ever conversed with IRL, off-forum. A really cool dude once you got to know him. He spent his final years fiercely protecting Bitcoin yet died penniless...

I just found this post as an example at random of his type of humor, and it is somewhat prescient for today, in a thread titled "Would you accept and Artificial Intelligence as a member of the forum?":

Okay, I'm gonna reply sans reading the OP, commenting on only the wording of the title.

Humanity, my Religion.
I came into this forum with zero or little knowledge about Bitcoin. Many members have helped me grow in my knowledge of bitcoin and other areas. I have learned from their posts, corrections, and even criticism. At first, it was hard to endure criticism and I began to feel that these critics dislike me. But today I am grateful that they identified my faults and called me to order. I don't have a single or double mentor because I respect and cherish everyone that has contributed to my growth in knowledge and the forum. I can't list all of them because I can't even remember their names. To answer your question OP

It’s funny you started this topic and still did not tell us who your mentor is. I would have expected you to start with yours. When I first came to the forum, there were many users whose post caught my attention, their writing style and knowledge was intriguing. I don’t have to mention their names, they need no introduction and I’m sure you know most of them by now.

I don’t know of any mentorship in bitcointalk, a role model would be more appropriate because a mentor is someone you have some sort of personal relationship with. I doubt that’s highly likely to happen here because of how much members value their privacy, though it is possible to build relationships here especially in local boards. I also do not see the need for a mentor, bitcointalk isn’t as complex as newbies make it seem.

I think there was a similar thread about an user praising his mentors here in the forum but it seems like the post was moved to archival or prolly abandoned since it didn’t receive the kind of replies that the Op sought for.

I think it was title “heroes of bitcointalk” or something like that. I have seen lot of similar threads, it’s hard to keep track of all of them.

We all have mentors or those that we read some of their replies and it has helped us one way or another but I really don’t see any reason to created a dedicated thread to start praising them, if you ever want to praise them then earn merits so that you can send the Smerit to the thread that helped you rather than mentioning them unnecessarily.

When it comes to mentorship or coach, it is nice one have that particular person or group of persons  possibly in different field they are looking upto to learn more from. It doesn't necessarily mean that one must be close to them or know them in person but the ability to follow their foot steps by applying the same measures that they have used could guide you to achieving  the same or similar results as they have done or you surpassing them as a result of the principles you learnt from them and applying it to your own life and endeavors. There are lots of high ranked members here  whom I have been looking upto although I am still learning and coming up but I will still need  to learn more because there are still things to learn from posts here as every one has their unique ways of writing and information to dish out to the community which they have in stock already and this has kept me  growing  since my coming here. Although I am trying my possible best to be active here and I will continue to make sure I devote my time being here regularly irrespective of the situations i find myself in.

Like I have said earlier, there are lots of members here I have come across their posts and profile and I have been able to learn something from them in one way or the other which I am gradually taking the steps to building my capacity here as I  continue my stay on this prestigious platform. I have been taking my time to read most of their posts one after the other while I learn  from them as I engage in other thread and topics. I think I am just testing the microphone. I will mention but just a few of them;
JayJuanGee
DdmrDdmr.

There are lots of their posts and replies I have read in the course of my stay here and they have been much educative and informing. As a matter of fact, there have some information the are very much educative that i have been able to apply and it worked out. I have
no doubt, they are absolute voices and authority that speaks in their field.

I have come across many posts here where people in posts and replies say something about who they look up to on bitcointalk platform in the course of engagements with other members in thread conversations and arguments pertaining to a topic raised or area of concern and that has long been on my mind to start something of this nature whereby everyone member would be privileged to say something about their mentors here and maybe their mentor too can reply their post with a remark of how they see their mentee and how they have been following up with them and making sure they are successful and are creating impart on this platform.

I believe many people here were reffered to this platform by someone and in the course of going through posts and thread you saw someone's writing pattern which you like or maybe how creative a particular poster is and you decided to follow that person's step here onboard as your mentor. It is possible that everyone here has that particular person they always look up to to developing themselves here and it would be nice we have this opportunity to say something meaningful and remarkable about that person.

In other for there to be orderliness and coordination, I would state some steps and guidelines to achieving this here and they are as follows;

Write the username of your mentor.
Paste their profile link
Link to post that first caught your attention to them
.

You can the write something about your mentor after you have provided the above so that other members can read about it.

Note: This thread is not to put anybody in a bad way but to steer up more commitment to this platform and to help build more people in the course of engagements and contributions.

I would welcome more ideas to develop this topic further so as to create more impart on this platform through it.  If you feel this is not the right thread for this topic you can say it for directions.

Looking for to hearing from you all.
