No idea what thoughts were in the head of a person who wanted to install the app with that name. I mean, if you still want to install some shady program, then at least check it through online virus checkers and only then download to your device.

Well you can't really judge some individual who still believes that they can earn free coins without checking the credential of the said projects that why we really need to use logic here and not be emotional or too greedy, otherwise you will look and feel dumb about it when you became a victim like this guy {Beware}:Fake Elon Musk giveaway and how someone fall for the trick.

I just finished reading a similar post in the beginner's board https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/warningchrome-extension-caught-stealing-crypto-wallet-private-keys-5214102

You should check here https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/url whether it's really safe or not.
From this article, it says that the wallet came out clean after scanning on VirusTotal.

This reminded me of a topic I created few months ago https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/be-careful-of-bountyairdrop-campaigns-with-download-app-requirement-5164497

What it looks like that your friend got hit by a ransomware, best way to avoid this kind of shit from happening is to don't join crypto related Telegram channels you have found online that you don't personally trust. Generally in the web you don't need to click suspicious links or download suspicious materials because this is what will get you in trouble. Another way to solve this is to have your computer back up on a separate hdd or usb so that if your system got compromised you have the option to clean up your device and recover your files without paying them. Also you should take note that paying them is really out of the option here since there is no guarantee that you will really recover your device nor guarantee that your device will be hit again.

Well the name is a giveaway already, we would love to have a 'shitcoin' on their wallet?

Anyways, those criminals are not resting even in holidays, so as crypto enthusiast, we shouldn't let our guards down. I don't know why people are still clicking suspicious links specially coming from un-trusted sources specially Telegram groups.

Is that a Chrome window I'm seeing? What happens to his files? Is it truly encrypted or that's just a webpage with fake alert?
I really do not know about it, it's just that I saw a post on FB, for fear it happened to me. maybe you can see it in that post here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2478747898900897&set=g.680832738634781&type=1&theater&ifg=1

I Just found information from someone on Facebook. he said he had downloaded a wallet from the Airdrop channel on Telegram https://t.me/airdrop6channel, after he downloaded it suddenly his PC got some kind of virus. like the screenshot below.

Then the PC becomes like this

And it seems that now it has been deleted for Airdrop Shitcoin information from that channel.
does anyone know complete information about this?

That's why it is important to check a scam accusation board sometimes before downloading shitcoin apps.

Scam warning has been posted before, these guys are far from honest project and everything is just copypasta from Metamask.

Please check this thread for more information: Shitcoin Wallet - Plagiarised content
