Meh, I had about 13.37036 in Heaven Sent Gaming's account there. And 8.5731 in my personal account there. Those coins were mined late last year to early this year. I usually try to have top tier mining equipment, so this is a small fraction of Bitcoin I've had.

According to the corrupted database I had BTC150+, lol I'm rich! Just kidding, this is why I keep a physical ledger of all my Bitcoin transactions. All other users should do the same, or try to maintain a personal record outside of your wallet. Also, backup your wallet in a safe place, not just the default spot on your system drive lol. (external hdd bitcoin wallet ftw!)

I used to mine at 50BTC, deepbit, and slush's pool. Then, in February, I switched to BitMinter. As a long time supporter of Bitcoin I can tell you that I've seen quite a few fallen Bitcoin pools and sites. This one probably won't be one of 'em.

50BTC is a great pool! And I'm sure they'll correct this, and payout the majority of lost funds to people. If they do, I can guarantee you the majority of people will switch over to using their services.

I got to say, I'm stunned at the amount of btc people are leaving with pools.  I have to think that people leaving that amount of coin in the hands of pools and their pool operators is part of the reason for pools being able to pull off shit like this.  Hasn't anyone heard of daily withdrawals?

The weren't worth $1000 a pop at the time. I now it's really stupid, I was just withdrawing what I needed when I needed it. Of course I feel like an idiot!

I know it's like at your job, if you had the option to get paid daily and you tell your employer, "naw, go ahead and hold on to that for me...thanks."  Roll Eyes

- why are they communicating at all (through Bitcointalk status updates, Skype etc.) ? If it was a scam they could’ve just shut everything down and disappear. There is no logic here.  Maybe they’ve frozen payments and using our funds on mtgox, btce or smth.

classic scam tactic.  many scammers do this.  I'd refer you to pirateat40.

- probably their brand due to the large amount of users is worth much more than they’ve lost during the hack, so there is no point in leaving such product behind.

Now you are just being silly.  Do you have any idea how much they walked off with?

JackPatrick,

Based on your post history, I have to surmise you are a 50btc shill? Sorry.. I have no loyalties to any pool.

Yes, there is no status update from them for a while now but I think it’s a little bit early to start a scam topic. Think for yourself:

- probably their brand due to the large amount of users is worth much more than they’ve lost during the hack, so there is no point in leaving such product behind.
- they had a good reputation and have been a largest pool for a long time. Yes, they’ve lacked stability, but everything else was fine
- 50BTC.com hashrate only a couple months ago was amongst top3 bitcoin pools

Also I assume there are a lot of processes going in the same time in 50btc: coding, testing etc. so there is not much time left for support and public relations in general.  I guess everybody here knows that 50BTCs’ “2 weeks” are not 2 weeks at all… I still hope they will return my 2.15 BTC.  Smiley

What happened::

50BTC.com (member) ran 50BTC.com mining pool.  On about October 18 2013 the pool stopped payouts of mining earnings.  Suspiciously, this was right after an announcement that they would be switching to DGM reward method from PPS.  50BTC.com (member) has not been on the forum since October 28, 2013. 50BTC.com claims pool was conveniently hacked and all mining earnings were lost.  Lack of communication and avoiding questions from pool members makes the situation appear very fishy.
