I just hope that this would be just another made up story, since you don't know how does it feel to get your funds held by someone even though you mentioned already that you returned the ETH.
People can be bilingual or that dude could have been just residing for now in Indonesia.
If I start living in Japan and I speak other languages, I hope you would not be the one that I would talk to.

Being him a scammer or not, he fulfilled is part of business so you should also do the same. I don't see why you keeping his coin and also is cash with you, holding up your part of business shows you can't be trusted. You can't send someone money to charity, pay him his money or return is coins to him

but do you guys know the funniest part of it he even called me with a Nigeria phone number but I returned his Etherume yesterday because I believe that anyone who keeps what belongs to a thief is also a thief and I don't want to be path of that word.
You chatted with someone and had their funds and you're asking for their identity before you could send back their money? You're unbelievable and I think your story is beginning not to add up. I hope you aren't out to tarnish the image of Nigeria here. I challenge you to provide the forum the etherscan of that transaction since you said you sent the alleged scammer back their cash. Failure to provide us with the tx id will only mean that you merely targeted a particular country to spread falsehood and then lied through your teeth to achieve that. You could get tagged for that, you know.

I have one question am I a scammer too or did I do  wrong by not sending him his Etherume back because after this incident my conscience has been beating me.
 stay safe.
If you didnt return his money then that makes you scammer too. Its not right to keep the money that is not yours and its not necessary to ask for verification before you return it since you know better the money came from him. BTW, are you certain he is a scammer? Or its just what you think because he messaged you first?

But to be honest with you guys I refund his Etherume not because I want to clear myself to you guys but because of my conscience. And I also believe what you did to others also comes back to you. I never want to be the reason why anybody cries.
Good decision. Regardless how bad the person is, dont make yourself similar to him.

well... you've done the right thing. and I am proud of your actions. indeed with you posting and creating threads here I think you have no reason to run with the money. and you're just asking for advice from friends here.

yeah that's right. In this world there is a law of reciprocity. what we sow is what we harvest. Every action has its own consequences. and you have done right and good.

There are so many scammers with different modes, if the story is true then I think he is too predictable for a scammer because there are also scammers who have good and well-organized modes so many are deceived. that's the importance of having knowledge so that we are not easily provoked by the seduction of scammers with that attractive offer. if it says whether you are the same as the fraudster, then I think it would be better if you left it at the beginning without having to talk further if you feel there were indications of fraud. so you will not be burdened with the question of whether your behavior is also the same as the fraudster or not. so I think just do what has to be done and avoid things that could be detrimental.

There is too little information about whether that person is a scammer. You need to try to find out more about him and his intentions. It is possible that he is not a scammer at all, and then it will be very sad if you don't return his money to him. If you have ever been deceived, then it is not for me to tell you how unpleasant it is.

Was at the office when a message pop on my Facebook messenger
Have you ever wondered why he contacted you? What were the prerequisites for this in your FB?

First of all, in the it’s legally said a man is innocent until proven guilty, no matter the circumstances, so you don’t judge someone because of the scenario was pointing something to you, although I would agree with other that thinks this story is made up, OP didn’t think this through, probably thought we all would be happy that he dealt with in his thoughts a potential scammer.
But if this case was to be true and at this point I would pretend it is, you holding the said fund sent to you make you what you suspected him to be, in the first place why that scam moves gets people is that, those people also has plans of scamming the person asking to send funds or crypto to them. It best you shun the person and reject the offer from the beginning.

More funny is that Op is happy to tell the story describing him as a scammer too. Lol

Recently, i discovered that the signature bounty of the scammy casino 1XBit was managed by a one of the active profile in btt forum. the manager run away with about 2000$ after working for few weeks.

The guy maybe has no second thought about doing that they have no mercy for scamming their players so the manager also has no mercy for scamming a scammer, but the bad thing is they will continue to scam people because they need more money to sustain their operation and the money that was scammed to them.

I don't understand your stories because it seems to be untrue  to me, from your topic it tells you are a scammer. What he knows as a scammer you know better for you to have proceed with the transaction knowing that he is a scammer right from the beginning of the conversation, for you to have succeeded in collecting his money and you didn't return what was supposed to go to defines who you are.

What I think about this story it is either the story is not real, or if truly it is real collecting what does not belongs to you automatically makes you a scammer.

I do not pass judgement on you. You can use upload the images on https://imgur.com/ and paste the link here. There are plenty guides on how to post images on BitcoinTalk https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guideline-on-posting-images-with-size-adjustments-hyperlinks-3974517
The link you gave me is not opening on my phone secondly I don't use computer or laptop what I make use of is cellphone. And that brings me to the question can't someone upload images with cellphone.

You can also use the website https://imgbb.com on your smartphone and upload the screenshot here and then share the link.
Also, you can send us the ethereum transaction id so that we can verify you had sent the address on that address.
Show us that screenshot where the user has sent you the wallet address and then the ETH tx id where you have sent amount to that address.
This will prove that you have really sent the funds back to that user.

This story so far is really confusing. I currently can't even see who's the actual scammer here, cause from the start the OP didn't put up this story in the expected direction and on the other hand, even the accused haven't come up yo debunk the story.

The forensics are not yet clear.

Scamming a scammer Smiley I can only smile at your story. In fact, what I've experienced in this space of unknown strangers trying to reach out for the purpose of exchange makes me default to them as scammers. But in the case OP is talking about, you're also playing a scammer here. It's not fun to talk about. I have also encountered some situations when borrowing money, and when they can't fulfill their purpose, they are ready to utter vulgar words, but it is pitiful for such people to know no other way to survive than to cheat life. It is natural to be wary, but I have also advised them to change to live a better life so that they do not cheat anyone more.

After posting this thread (scammer get scammed) yesterday, I chatted him up telling him to send me proof of identity threatening him that is only way he can get his fund back but he couldn't prove it he didn't send me any, I even tried calling him video calls but he couldn't pick up, but do you guys know the funniest part of it he even called me with a Nigeria phone number but I returned his Etherume yesterday because I believe that anyone who keeps what belongs to a thief is also a thief and I don't want to be path of that word.
Thank you guys for your contribution and advice.
A Nigerian guy trying to guy a Nigerian guy goes wrong. He got flamed up when his plans didn't work.
Is the scammer truly aware that you are a Nigerian before sending his Ethereum or telling you about crypto? Cause average Nigeria guy doesn't fall for scams easily. The mind of the scammer was to send you his Ethereum to gain your trust forgetting that Nigerians don't trust people easily when it comes to matters relating to money.
You did well by sending him back his Ethereum, to let him know that you can't make a living by going around scamming people's hard-earned money

In the first place, How would you know that he is a scammer? Because in that situation, it turns out that you are a scammer, you're making a deal with someone who even sends you first. It is never an excuse if it is the time of your presentation, for sure there is a time for you to reply to him and make him aware of your situation.

It was a big mistake to trust strangers but if you are not really a scammer, you will send back his money and clear your reputation. Feel your conscience and do what is the best thing to do, for sure you know it and to prove that you are not a scammer.

Fraud with a mode like this is often encountered. but I don't think it's that easy to believe that he's a swindler. I think need further research or verification first.
but if it turns out to be a fraud. I think it can be a lesson for him. and hopefully he gets tired of it.
and I'm worried about you I worry if the person is not a fraud. and he felt cheated. then I'm afraid he will report you to the court. I think there should be more research.

Yes, you are the other guy must have a good motive when sending you he just wants to trade unless you have a proof that he is indeed a scammer by reading one bad report about him, in the first place if you think the guy is a scammer you should not entertain him.
Free yourself by refunding him you don't want to get tagged as a scammer, this guy has a reason to create a bad report about you for running away with his money, and your suspicion is not justified to scam him.

You'll be a great story writer if you do get a job from Hollywood.
Don't come here saying shit about Nigeria with no proper proof.
I know you'll be looking for a way to frame this up, why not cut the crap ?
Deal he is a scammer, so could you send him back he's money ?
